By RG from Cave Creek AZ on 11/10/2009 Pros: Good Capacity, High Quality Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use it to haul items in the back of my vehicle - I like the separated containers for different types of items - dog paraphanalia, toys, leashes, training tools, etc.; reuseable shopping bags and items to be returned;repair kit, etc.
awesome commuter backpack By mark from salt lake city, utah on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Good Padding, Large Capacity Best Uses: Day Hikes, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i needed a replacement pack to carry my powerbook, ipod and accessories, a book or two and misc. gear of life to and from work on mass transit. i have two other mountainsmith packs and knew the quality would be high. i was thrilled about the space it offers, and stows very easily all i need without overthinking what the consumer needs. the shoulder straps are wide and comfortable, and the little things like a super soft padded front pocket for glasses, a side bottle carrier and side cinch pocket make this pack a no-brainer.
Big careful if you carry on airlines !! By Lost In the Northern Rockies from Libby, MT on 11/07/2009 Pros: Easy To Access Items, Easy To Carry, Easy To Identify, Good Capacity, High Quality Best Uses: Family Trips, Long Vacations, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Comfort-Oriented, Modern, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought 4. Can't find the green version of this bag. Wanted to send gifts of all 3 sizes XS, S, & Medium in red and green both. But had to go with Brown for the green set. So have 2 brown sets and one red set and a green set in just the two smaller sized bags. Anyway will use these large medium bags two side by side on a bicycle trailer next summer to carry tents and sleeping mats and gear for three people riding the San Juan Islands. I'll make a rain cover for each bag to make sure they stay dust clean and dry during the trips but they will fit perfectly on the trailer with room on the front for a small collasable cooler. Also I prefer to carry on luggage on planes and trains rather than check. So travel light. These are not as heavy as bigger rolling bags. I might use them in addition with a roller if it's an extended trip. But will also add 2 compression straps onto the sides of this bag to make sure it passes thru carry on. And I'm thinking of adding a backpack strap system to this and the other two totes too. This bag does not have the heavy rubberized boot on the bottom. But that means it is lighter. I would have liked an option of getting one with a boot to check it out. But all in all just wish it covered the greens in the smaller sizes and darn they ran out of red now too.
By Two blonds and Us from Bellingham, WA on 11/04/2009 Pros: Organizes Packing, Versatile Best Uses: Car Trips, Dog Stuff Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Instead of one big duffel in the car for our stuff, we organize in these packs. We usually take our two dogs along on road trips and these packs organize their stuff as well. Makes for very flexible packing in the car. Optimizes use of space.
By NC Camper from Chapel Hill, NC on 11/04/2009 Pros: Easy To Refill, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity Best Uses: Base camp storage, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Well-constructed and rugged. Mesh top keeps it from being waterproof.
Great for walks and hikes! By Husky mom from Woodland Hills, CA on 11/04/2009 Pros: Fun, Good Value, Tough, Versatile Best Uses: Larger Pets, Smaller Pets, Travel, Younger Pets Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have bought other backpacks for my dogs before, and mind you I have two huskies (30 lbs and 50 lbs). This backpack is the best one yet. It's big enough to take everything you'd need on a walk, but not too big so that if flips and flops all over the place. The material is durable and is great for walks and hikes. I did get the small for both my dogs even though there is a 20 lb difference so I would be aware of the sizes, but I figured that out when I bought backpacks for the first time.
By marliemom from utah on 11/03/2009 Best Uses: Commuting, Travel What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like this bag. It's very light weight and keeps its shape. The handles don't drag on the ground when the shoulder strap is used. I like that it zips closed for security.
Perfect size for my Nikon Coolpix P90 By vvccjim from Northern AZ on 11/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Lightweight Best Uses: Day Hikes, Extended Hikes, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If you are looking for a protective camera case for hiking, etc., and if you do not have extra lenses etc, like in a full bodied camera, this case is perfect. It is perfect for the all in one style digital camera like the Nikon CoolPix P90 with the built in zoom lens. Just the right amount of space, the right amount of padding, etc, for protection and portability. I'm sure I would have found it too small for a full bodied SLR because there is no room for an extra lens for a camera of that size.
Finally Some One Listened By Gary from Newport RI on 11/02/2009 Pros: Easy To Access Items, Easy To Carry, Easy To Identify, Good Capacity, High Quality Describe Yourself: Comfort-Oriented, Modern, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The idea of putting a waterproof bottom on this bag was long over due genius. I have been looking for some one to due this in a non-industrial bag for years.
By jb from seattle, wa on 11/02/2009 Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: this has proven a great choice for a 40 lbs dog. Be sure to measure the girth. My dog either likes or atleast doesn't seem to mind carrying the pack. Most importantly it it does not appear create discomfort!
