Mountainsmith

Mountainsmith

If necessity is the mother of invention, frustration could easily be the father. Mountainsmith founder Patrick Smith was motivated by both when he tried to find a functional, durable backpack that was easy to carry in the 1970’s. When the bags he tried came up short on comfort and convenience, he began building his own. Since that time, Mountainsmith has become a leader in travel systems built to take the rigors of the journey, from rugged trails to baggage carousels. From their signature bright yellow linings (to help you find what you need in the dark) to hundreds of user-friendly extras, Mountainsmith makes innovative packs, camera bags and luggage for travelers who like to stay comfortably organized. Take the burden off your back and your wallet, wherever you roam, with a quality bag or pack from Mountainsmith.

fabulous quality, great handle length. capacity is good; perfect for me to carry to work. fits several books, sweater and supplies for the school day. top zipper compartment is fabulous for the things i need throughout the day (burts bees, cell phone, a couple of dollars) and front pocket works well for my keys. haven't figured out what to do with the side mesh pockets, though; their placement is a bit inconvenient.

This is the 3rd one I have bought! Great for familys. Each member of our familey gets a cube (including the dog!) and the carrying case becomes our 'toybox' while on vacation! Not listed as 'waterproof' but on our last camping trip the items in our bags where the ONLY things not soaked and they where practically sitting in puddles!

This is the perfect thing to keep my trunk organized. The capacity is good and it's easy to carry and move around. Individual cubes with see through tops make it easy to locate items. We love it!

Why I waited until now to purchase this item...this is better than sliced bread. Ideal usage for camping weekends, no problems finding anything when living in a confined space. Looking forward to using for XC Ski season with baselayers in one, gloves & hats in another and ski pants in the third. And when clothes are dirty or wet use the bigger bag for "hamper" to return home and the smaller units will still accomodate the clean items.

Will be using this in two weeks as a carry on luggage. Like the backpack concept. A bonus was discovering that it also has a shoulder strap and handle on the side, so you can carry it like a suitcase. Several compartments. Color is stylish.

Mountainsmith Aurora II Lumbar Camera Pack - Medium

Camera Pack as a Waist Pack/Purse
By GG from Amarillo, TX on 10/29/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Good Padding, Large Capacity, Many zippered compartment, Top handle plus waistband
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Light Loads, Wet Weather
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I bought this to use as a purse/waist pack. Main drawback for me is the belt fastener at the center;the waistpacks I've had all fastened at one side, which is easier to adjust and more convenient to fasten. I like the many zippered compartments and the removable padding in the main compartment.I find the zippers on the main compartment hard to close; the padding has to be worked out of the way, inch by inch.
