By Houndstooth from Boise ID on 08/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Good Weight, Sharp Blade Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Day Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I think the unfavorable comparison to CRKT et al is a little unfair. This knife has great steel, secure liner-lock, and an ergonomic handle that I find secure in my hand (M Large glove). Grip is not tacky or textured, but is shaped well. Liner-locks are often hard to clean, but this has a good gap in the handle spine (making the handle on the thick side). Could be a little lighter, thinner. Contrary to the description, I'd call the blade a spear point, not drop point. Edge stayed admirably sharp after use on elk hair/hide.
By nueles303 from lemoore on 08/18/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Easy To Use, Sharp Blade, Versatile Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Campgrounds, Survival, Work Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i have the h502 and i like it , but i wanted to wear it without the sheath or it hanging on my side, so i got the k502, what a dif! its a great knife to have if you need a screw driver every now and then, quality is top notch better than the h502, the leather sheath is a nice bonus.

By Dave from Santa Fe, NM on 08/13/2009 Pros: Compact, Easy To Use, Good Weight Cons: Dull, Uncomfortable Grip Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a nice all around pocket knife with a few minor drawbacks. while the size and weight of the knife are very nice, the handle material (plastic) looks cheap and has no grip. The blade is also a bit of a problem as it is not sharpened to very high standards at the factory. With a little work on a diamond stone you can get a nice edge that seems to hold.

Okay knife when purchased on sale By huja from SFO on 08/04/2009 Pros: Compact, Easy To Use Best Uses: Day Trips, Road Trips, Survival, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a CRKT M16 (from STP) and decided to buy this the E304 because it's a bit smaller and more appropriate as a EDC. The Leatherman lacks many of the details of the CRKT. Examples include the textured thumb bolt and superior opening and locking mechanism of the CRKT vs. the Leatherman. The grip of the Leatherman is also very slippery. I purchased this knife during a sale so I'd say the value is fair, but the regular price is steep for what you get - especially if you can buy a CRKT, Kershaw or SOG at STP.
