Overly large, clunky silver setting completely encases the stone, which appears plastic-like. Nothing delicate or refined about it. I returned it as soon as I saw it.

No it is NOT too heavy, this piece has a very nice weight, a light weight piece is a flimsy, low quality piece (euphemism=delicate), this is a first rate, unique piece that is well worth the money.
