Wetfly

Wetfly

Born of a passion for fly fishing, nurtured by inspiration and innovation, and focused on a commitment to quality and success on the water, Wetfly has risen like a Yellowstone Cutthroat to a place of prominence in the fly fishing industry. Founded in 1999, Wetfly presents world renowned flies tied by partner Craig Black, who has been tying quality flies worldwide for more than 35 years. Craig learned the craft from his dad, Dennis, the original founder of Umpqua, and started some of the first fly- tying factories in Thailand in the ‘70s. He continues to direct the production of top quality, hand-tied flies for Wetfly.

I have been fly fishing since 1970. gnats, mosquitos and coachmen always produces trout and grayling in that order. Why waste twice the cost or spend time and materials on the same product you get by the dozen. I tied flies for years and it was not efficient as I had rather spend my time fishing.Good looking gnat.

Fresh Water

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
The post on three of the flies had fallen out. Divide the dozen price by 9 or 10 flies instead of 12 to evaluate your per fly cost. In-tact flies were of average quality.

By EJVerified Reviewer from Arvada, CO on 03/30/2009

Best Uses:
Hopper-Dropper Rigs, Salmon Fly Imitation
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality of these tied flies. The high-floatation deer hair was sculpted with craftsmanship and makes for a very 'edible-looking' top water profile for any hungry trout, panfish or bass. I am looking forward to using them as part of late summer hopper-dropper rigs which are so effective on our western rivers. An excellent choice for the dry fly enthusiast!
