By yonuts from atlanta on 11/08/2007 Best Uses: Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Has been that never was Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bomber construction, as usual for Metolius, but one huge oversight: any scumming with your butt and the zipper coil is toast. Metolius warns you, but if you do it anyway the zipper will be messed up!
Best chalk around...VERY dry By ash78 from Birmingham, AL on 10/14/2007 Best Uses: Bouldering, Casual Climbing Describe Yourself: Avid Climber, Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've tried three or four different kinds of chalk, figuring they're all pretty much the same (a commodity, right?). Wrong! Metolius superchalk seems to create insane amounts of friction, which is especially obvious on the heinous slopers of the Deep South boulderfields. I have heard some complain of excessive drying, but in my world, there's no such thing :D
Great holds...and a steal [...] By Ash from Birmingham, AL on 09/21/2007 Describe Yourself: Avid Climber, Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My "home stone" is Southern sandstone, and metolius is the closest to that texture that I've tried across several brands (Crater/Cheapholds, Atomik, Voodoo, and a few gyms). My home wall is almost exclusively Metolius bought on sale or closeout. A great way to outfit a wall, especially at these reasonable prices [...]
Fine Grind, but still good chalk By Chris from Chicago, IL on 09/19/2007 Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was bummed when I found out this was fine grind chalk. I'm not a fan normally, since most fine grind is too fine, but it turned out great. It's chalk, the same thing you buy at the climbing wall, except cheaper. I like the metolius product, and this is the easiest and cheapest way to get it.
By enjoisnowbrding from Southern Oregon on 09/11/2007 Pros: Durable, Stays On Hands Well Best Uses: Bouldering, Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice, finely ground chalk. Both easy to pack into sock balls, but also excellent for outdoor free chalk bags!
Great price on a quality quickdraw By Johny Rocket from Minneapolis, MN on 09/11/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Simple Best Uses: Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: highly mark resistent. I've used these on a couple of trips so far to the crag and they still look un-marked. Hard to beat price. Not the lightest but for sport climbing they work great. The sling is a a plum color, that's the only downfall. (If you care about that sort of thing) The assorted colors were refering to the different shades for one of the biners it went from a dark blue to a light blue.
