By redondored from N.ca on 02/13/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: i found this info to be old, before tsa security and very very very basic. not what i was hopeing for,i expected something with a little more info for "seasoned" travelers.maybe if you dont have a suitcase, have never traveled, and have a TSA security manuel you may find it helpful.
Outdated Book a Disappointment By Alaskan Traveler from Eagle River, AK on 01/01/2009 Best Uses: Family Trips, Long Vacations, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was disappointed with this book primarily because with a pre-9/11 copyright date (1997), much of the information was outdated. Between the ever-changing TSA guidelines and the airlines' responses to a sinking economy, one might do better reading on-line packing guidelines. That said, the price was right, and it does has some useful information and checklists for packing. If you haven't already developed your own checklists (or downloaded one) or you have not done much traveling, you may find it useful.
Lots of info for a new traveler By 2thtells from Sheridan, AR on 12/10/2008 Pros: Easy To Access Items, Easy To Carry, Examples given, Good reference book, Lots of lists Best Uses: Family Trips, Long Vacations, Reference, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Career, Classic, Comfort-Oriented, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If you've read other packing books...you may not glean as much info. I liked the lists and I have put the lists in my computer spreadsheet...when I'm getting ready for a trip...I edit the lists, print two copies, then I have a list of items if needed and a list to gather it all up as I pack for home.
By amh from New York City on 11/12/2008 Pros: 95 percent current, Easy To Carry, High Quality, Teaches organization Best Uses: Family Trips, Long Vacations, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Career, Classic, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great ideas on how to organize your stuff, how to pack it, and how to buy the luggage that's best for your needs.
The outdated 5% is due to recent charges placed by airlines on your second and subsequent pieces of luggage. Still worth buying.
Well written and concise, AND it's on sale!
