Very very good little scope By field biologist from bay area, CA on 04/22/2008 Pros: Accurate, Comfortable Eyepiece, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Best Uses: Bird Watching, Bright Conditions, Low Visibility Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My first scope experience was with a leica televid on a job. Ever since that time I have been unable to buy any scope that I could afford. The Fieldscope III on sale was exactly what I was looking for. It is pleasingly sharp, has good CA control, and very bright for a 60mm scope. The 30x fixed eyepiece is a great eyepiece. Yes, there are better, but not anywhere near this price. I am extremely satisfied.
Warranty issues - do not buy a 2nd. By Respondent from Saint Paul, MN on 04/21/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Sierra Trading does not tell you that Nikon 2nds carry only a 90 day warranty, instead of the standard Nikon lifetime warranty. Scopes can go bad - make sure you get a lifetime warranty.
