Different and definitly a crossover By moosaki from Eastern WV Panhandle, Aruba & Florida on 08/20/2009 Pros: Accurate Casting, Durable, Easy To Transport, Flexible, Good Tip Action, Sensitive Best Uses: Fly Fishing, Large Fish, Ocean Fishing, River Fishing, Small Fish Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is fly rod number nine. I have everything from 3-12#wts. This is 9#wt no. 2. I like the portability, flat finish green with black and red wrappings. The guides and glass are very modern. I will likely pair it up to 2 9wt. reels and a spinning reel. I see it as excellent with big river fish and salt water back bay species. Casts well and is accurate. Stiff full flex action.
By Avalanche Fisher from Rancho Cucamonga CA on 08/09/2009 Pros: Accurate Casting, Durable, Easy To Transport, Flexible, Good Tip Action, Sensitive Best Uses: Fly Fishing, Large Fish, River Fishing, Small Fish Describe Yourself: Casual Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have owned this rod for several years now, and it performs flawlessly. I generally fish for trout in streams with a few lakes when I can. I usually go after trout but recently have started fly fishing for Bass and use this same rod. I have caught fish up to 10 pounds on it with ease. I love the sensitivity of this rod! When you catch small fish it feels like it's a big fish, when you have a big one on it's just amazing! This is only the 2nd rod I have owned, first one was just a cheapo but once I knew fly fishing was for me I bought a better rod and this one caught my eye. As for any cons, I have none.
By Fish from PA on 07/24/2009 Pros: A GREAT LOVER, Accurate Casting, Durable, Easy To Transport, Flexible, Good Tip Action, Sensitive Best Uses: Fly Fishing, River Fishing, Small Fish Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the rod I sleep with. I own a few MB's already and they really have it pegged with this little shorty when it comes to small streams and sneaking smooth penetrations in through the vegitations. My little darlin purs like a kitten and even goes the distances when I want it to (50+ feet despite the size-- try it!) Anyway March Brown as a company is far and away the most responsive to the man that I've found in all my days fly fishing so I just leave the dozens of other company rods I own to collecting dust.
By fish from PA on 07/24/2009 Pros: A REAL BEAUTY, Accurate Casting, Durable, Easy To Transport, Flexible, Good Tip Action, Sensitive Best Uses: Fly Fishing, Large Fish, River Fishing, Small Fish Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Let's just put it this way-- if the rod were a woman, I'd giver a big kiss. Hell, even if it were a man, I'd make out with it. This is the smoothest casting, most accurate fly rod in the world! March Brown rocks as a company and blows away all the other pathetic fly rod companies out there, especially when it comes to customer service. I'm buying more of these rods today.

By dgoJMR from Durango, CO on 05/04/2009 Pros: Accurate Casting, Easy To Transport, Flexible, Good Tip Action, Sensitive Best Uses: Fly Fishing, Large Fish, River Fishing, Small Fish Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I live in Colorado and fly-fish at least 50 days a year. I own several other high-end fly rods, including a Sage Z-Axis 6wt and an Orvis Zero Gravity 5 wt. The March Brown Hidden water (4-piece) matches up very favorably with both of the above 4-piece fly rods. I used the March Brown yesterday on the San Juan River (quality tail waters section) in NM. It was a windy day. The rod had the backbone to handle those conditions while casting streamers as well as #22 - #24 flies. I landed a dozen trout including several fish in excess of 20 inches. It was a joy to play the larger fish on the MB rod. Several days ago, I also used it on a local (small) stream. I found the rod to be sensitive enough to make catching smaller trout enjoyable. Overall, a fine product. Nothing was spared in the manufacture of this fly rod. Buy it! You won't be sorry.

By Allen from Wales on 01/23/2009 Pros: Accurate Casting, Easy To Transport Best Uses: Fly Fishing, Large Fish, River Fishing, Small Fish Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I possess major brands of expensive fly rod and travel into "Slovenia" and catch some trophy fish on large and small flies, with airline restrictions these rods fit into your hand luggage and do not have to be taken into the hold. I love em. I have now bought another MarchBrown road for use in the UK and elsewhere. For the price of a Premium name you could posisbly own 3 of these rods and be better prepared for any occasion.
