By phammd from Austin, TX on 02/20/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Lightweight Best Uses: Commuting, Long Rides, Mountain Bikes Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Light and cheap from Sierra.
I haven't used it long enough, but it seems durable and won't bend if you ride moderately XC. I weight 150 lbs and expect the bar to last infinite years.
Great fork at a great price By bikerted from Raleigh/Clayton NC on 02/17/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I broke my fork right after I bought my first tri bike, a quintana roo, dropped off my car rack! This fork made replacement easy and not to much $. It turned out to be an upgrade and it looks good on the bike.
By The Rocket from Charlotte, NC on 02/16/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have this on my new racing bike. Love it. Rigid. Relatively light weight.
By Common Commuter. from Clarksville , TN on 02/11/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This bar is pretty nice, easy to install and very lightweight. The bar has markings on it to help you install and align correctly. I am a big rider so the bar flexes alot, a little too much for my liking but its just on the commuters so its not that big of a deal. If your looking for a rigid bar then you might wanna check elsewhere but the quality is good and the bars are nice and light.
By The Water Man from Central California on 02/10/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Gorgeous, Lightweight, Versatile, Well finished Best Uses: Commuting, Long Rides, Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I originally bought one 27.2 mm for my road bike and one 31.6 for my mountain bike. They were so beautiful and nicely finished and light that I bought another two 27.2 mms for a couple of future projects.
Good design with a relief flat so the slot doesn't carve up the shaft. The 31.6 had a lovely carbon fiber pattern but the 27.2 was just finished in flat black. Nice gradations on the shaft so you can know how much shaft is sticking in. ;-)
Love these posts. I think everyone should have seatposts this nice. I put one on my new time trial bike, my old mountain bike, the new road bike I'm building for my girlfriend, and a new fixie I'm building. Do you think I liked the posts? The price was killer...
The King Kong of carbon bars By The Water Man from Central Coast, California on 02/10/2009 Pros: Burly but light, Durable, Easy to Use, Lightweight, Stiff as a teenage boy Best Uses: Fixie, Single speed, Track bike Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a no-holds-barred track handlebar. It's burly, strong, gives you great confidence, looks awesome on my coal black fixie. DO NOT get this bar thinking that it would be terrific on your long haul road bike; mounting shifters would be difficult and the shape is wrong. I run a front brake on my fixie and mounted a Cane Creek cross bar lever right by the stem.
This is a nifty piece of gear. Expensive (relatively) and worth every penny. Thanks to Sierra for bringing it in my price range.
It's a water bottle cage... By The Water Man from Central California on 02/10/2009 Pros: Easy to Use, It's a water bottle cage, Lightweight Best Uses: It's a water bottle cage Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I don't know what possessed me to buy this water bottle cage, except to remind me that just because it is carbon fiber, doesn't mean it holds a water bottle any better. Good grief, I'm a dozen pounds overweight but spend those kinds of bucks for a light cage? I'm nuts.
Don't get me wrong, it's a splendid water bottle cage. It matches the carbon fiber of my superbike just great, and hold a water bottle nicely. And it's light. Installs easy. Looks great.
It's a water bottle cage.
Looks fast standing still... By The Water Man from Central California on 02/10/2009 Pros: Durable, Good looking, Great workmanship, Lightweight Best Uses: Commuting, Long Rides, Road Bikes, Single speed or fixie Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It was only tough to install because the compression fixture that fits inside the carbon steerer tube which was supposed to be included, per the instructions, was nowhere to be found. You shouldn't use a star nut, and other compression fixtures (Reynolds, for instance) won't fit inside the thicker walled Easton carbon steerer.
I've asked Sierra to send the plug. We'll see what happens.
Otherwise, the fork is a smoking deal and a very nice fork for your favorite road steed.
