By Peter from Morgantown, WV on 09/27/2009 Pros: Dark Digital Numbers, Good Quality, Reliable, Stylish Best Uses: Everyday, Formal, Travel Describe Yourself: Modern, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an outstanding value. The quality is excellent and the watch looks very good. The only drawback is the digital display, which is too dark. However, this is not a fatal problem since pressing down on the winding knob lights a back light that comes on for a moment.
Bad example of Swiss watchmaking By Jojo from Minneapolis on 07/23/2009 Pros: Easy To Read, Stylish Describe Yourself: Athletic, High End Shopper Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This watch was a disappointment and feel really cheaply made for the suggested retail price and also for the STP price. Just not worth it. My clasp broke after about 15 days of wearing it, and the screw for adjusting time is extremely uncomfortable and gets in the way as soon as you bend your wrist. Watch looks nice, but is poorly designed and quality is sub-par. This is far from a Rolex or a real Swiss watch, and I rather take a Seiko or something lite that instead of this one.
I think its my best watch yet. Very interesting design, but flawed By mr from Marylad on 06/20/2009 Pros: Good Quality, Stylish Best Uses: Everyday, Travel Describe Yourself: Diver, High End Shopper, Modern, Pilot Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Received mine a few days ago. This swiss chronograph seems to have very high build quality, though flawed by secondary digital displays so dark can't read, unless you push crown in to get backlight. Gevril seems to be a boutique watch company, pics of actors and models on web sight. For some reason they decided to make a few limited production chronographs, mine is 208 of 500. For the original price of $2500, who in their right mind would get one, this market segment would purchase an Omega or Tag-Huer, and I guess they did, since all the GV2s seem to be on closeout and not in current model listings.
But for the Sierra price, especially if associated with additional markdown, it is a good addition to those who appreciate Swiss chronographs, but not ready for a $3K Omega seamaster pro. Digital setups a bit involved, as any watch, but once you set the defaults, just twist the crown to enter various modes. The watch has a very high quality and clean design appearance, and the digital sub functions actually useful (if you could read them). Comes in this huge wood presentation box, the likes of which I have never seen. Going to use it as my watch storage box. Links adjust with screw pins rather than push out links, so check them ocassionally to make sure not loose. For the price, you get a watch that certainly doesn't look like it was put together in China, but who knows. One strange thing, watch is marked as a "certified chronotimer". Certified by whom, they do not say. The Swiss COSC organization certifies chronometers, each one individually. I suspect that marking was not well received. Even with all the above issues, I think it's an exceptional watch for the price. Just keep in mind that it is "huge".
By Michael O from Phoenix Arizona on 05/23/2009 Pros: Good Quality, Reliable, Stylish Best Uses: Everyday, Formal Describe Yourself: Athletic, Classic, High End Shopper, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The watch is a marvel in style and quality however, the clasp on the beautiful leather band is complex and difficult to deal with.
By RS from OR on 05/17/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I had to return the 1st and 2nd watch because both watch ran 10 to 15 second faster ech day.

High quality, good looking watch By Sonofep from Palos Verdes Estates, CA on 05/06/2009 Pros: Adjustable Watchband, Good Quality, Stylish Describe Yourself: Athletic, High End Shopper, Modern Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This watch is of the absolute finest quality. Apparently, there were only 500 made. The movement and craftsmanship are second to none. It's quite a good deal for a high end Swiss Timepiece. My only complaint is that the watch wears a bit thickly on the wrist, making it difficult to pull back your shirtsleeve to see it. The case is appropriately thick, but I think the real reason for the added bulk is the clasp design on the band. It adds another 1/8" to 3/16" of diameter to the watch as you wear it on your wrist.
However, this is a purchase that gets better the more you spend 'time' with it. The details of this timepiece are well thought through and you can rest assured of having something unique to pass on to someone years from now.
It also comes in a very nice jewelry box, befitting of a high end timepiece.
