By retired paddler from southeast Missouri on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Easy To Lift, Easy to Paddle, Good Maneuverability, Nice storage, Stable Best Uses: Day Trips, Kayak Camping, Rapids, Rivers Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This kayak is used extensively on the upper reaches of southeast Missouri's Big Whitewater River, upon which we live. It is a clear, very rocky small stream with many chutes which would probably classify as class I or class II. It withstands the rocks well with my weight-a 200 pounder. The storage is adequte for lightweight camping for a night or two. A great kayak for the price.
[...] good price, deceptive ad By Stan from Maryland on 08/30/2009 Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Product was advertised as "cosmetic blemish" hence good price. Kayak leaks due to defective seals on drain holes. Spent [$] dollars and have product that fills with water in 6 hours. DO NOT BUY Sierra Trading Post Responded on 08/30/2009
Please return this item for a refund. If defective, return shipping will be refunded as well as merchandise.

By rdsphd from Thibodaux LA on 08/18/2009 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Easy To Lift, Good Maneuverability, Stable Cons: Not Enough Storage, Poor Tracking, Slow Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This was my first kayak - bought it to fish in coastal Louisiana. Great boat for beginners and those checking out the sport. I upgraded pretty quick, though. The kingfish is slow and the molded foot rest are nowhere as confortable as the adjustable kind.
By Zoegirl from Raystown, PA on 08/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Maneuverability, Stable Best Uses: Flat Waters, Kayak Camping, Rivers Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: [...] No problems with leaking, tracks well, very stable. great to have on the lake to fish or carry a cooler for the day. If you're looking for speed, this is the wrong kayak.
By stormydayinohio from ohio on 07/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy to Paddle, Good Maneuverability, Stable Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit, Heavy, Leaked water Describe Yourself: Beginner Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: used it one time mild lake, when brought in from water found about 20 gallons of water in haul which made it very heavy for me to manage even turning it over to dump water out
By Love to Kayak from New York on 07/02/2009 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Easy to Paddle, Good Maneuverability, Good size dry compartment, Stable Cons: Heavy, Seat back needs be higher Best Uses: Day Trips, Flat Waters, Rivers Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like everything about this kayak except the back of the padded seat. It does not come up far enough when I try to adjust it. I placed a square floatation cushion behind it to push it forward. I am going to try to modify the seat because I have been unable to find a replacement. I use this kayak on lakes and rivers and it moves along nicely. I like having the dry compartment to carry my gear and use the cargo net to hold maps.
By Orchard from South-east Virginia on 03/07/2009 Pros: Very dry tracks well Cons: Stern drain poor place Best Uses: Good for fishing Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm very happy with mine. Good in lakes, wide rivers, or the bay. Really nice with a rudder in wind or strong tide. I like the fact is is drier than other sit-on-tops. I had no problems "pimping it out" with electronics, however, not easy to mount stern light for night fishing. Also, drain plug would be better on the side than the stern, especially with rudder.
I would buy this product again Great for By canman from colville washington on 11/14/2008 Pros: Easy To Lift, Easy to Paddle, Good Maneuverability, Stable Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Best Uses: Day Trips, Flat Waters, Kayak Camping, Rivers Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: great in cross wind
Best Value for a 12' rec kayak By sundancekid from Williamsburg, VA on 08/12/2008 Pros: Affordable, Comfortable, Compact, Easy Entry & Exit, Easy To Lift, Easy to Paddle, Good Maneuverability, Stable Best Uses: Day Trips, Flat Waters, Kayak Camping, Rivers, Rivers Reservoirs, Sounds Creeks Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Awesome boat for the money. I bought this b/c I was looking for an affordable rec boat that was at least 12' but still easy enough for me to load/unload by myself. Can't rave enough. The shape design is a little sleeker than most rec yaks and I think that gives it an edge in the water. People swear by the Pungo 120, but I find it hard to believe that it could outperform the Sundance. Just two drawbacks: It needs a better seat and a cupholder. Other than that I'm lovin' it.
