By CO Girl from Colorado Springs on 08/28/2009 Chest Size: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought this for my husband, in the navy. Love it! It looks good on him (he's usually a large, sometimes a med, but this large fits great). He's been wearing it a lot and it washes well. Overall, a good looking shirt with a tastefully done logo/slogan!
Light weight cap, USA made By Dr Bob in the Bronx from Bronx, NY on 08/28/2009 Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The cap is sort of old-fashioned in that the brim is not very pre-curved. The Filson logo embroidered on the cap is a bit indistinct. OK for the price.
Excellent Value, Tough Coat By Robert from Boston, MA on 08/25/2009 Best Uses: Bird Hunting, Foul Weather Describe Yourself: Competitive Shooter Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: You cannot beat the quality of Filson products. The sizing of Filson coats seem to run true to their numeric size (i.e. the size medium states it is a 40-42 and the Large is a 44). I am 165lb medium build, wear a size 42 suit, and usually by a size large with other brands; but, with Filson I am always a size medium. The sleeve and mid-section of a Filson large are just a bit too large for me (as a size 44 suit would look too large on me). And the size medium (40-42) looks correct and is still large enough to fit a regular sweater underneath. (However, when it comes to Filson shirts, I am more comfortable in their size large).
More a jackshirt than a coat. By Robert from Boston, MA on 08/24/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Filson perfection. Like all their products, just great. This is what I would call a jackshirt as opposed to a coat. It is a bit thinner than I had expected, reading Mackinaw Coat; but, all the better for use under a jacket or indoors. It is has all the great Filson stitching for durability and will see a lot of use.
By Robert from Boston, MA on 08/24/2009 Cons: Not well ventilated, Sits high for brim size Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: An unusual Filson disappointment. This was a good idea gone bad. The reversible flash orange feature was a good idea, but, it created two design problems: #1 There is little to no ventilation, having only one vent hole on each side with doubled up fabric on the top of your head. #2 The hat stands too tall for this size brim, making it look awkward on your head. I was truly torn, as I love all things Filson; but, in the end I did return it.
