By snowcat from boulder, co on 11/27/2007 Pros: Breathable, Lots of Pockets, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have no complaints. I would advise that Orage products fit pretty snuggly and the sleeves run a little short. I am a size 6 and am petite in stature. I usually get a size small, but I had tried a similar coat on in the store and decided to order a medium. The medium fits great-not much extra room for layers, though. That is okay because it is plenty warm. I would make sure to size up! Other than that, it is the best ski coat I've ever bought.
Perfect except for long inseam By Ski Junkie from Scranton, PA on 11/15/2007 Pros: Great hip fit, Low bulk, Mesh side vents, Slightly lowrise Describe Yourself: Advanced alpine, Casual/ Recreational, Easily cold Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Form fitting but not restricting throughout waist and hip. Easily adjustable waist with hidden in-seam pulls. My only suggestion aside from a slightly shorter inseam would be to put an open/close fastener on the ankle gaiter. Otherwise I love these pants and am tempted to buy another pair just to have on hand. Orage outerwear is extremely well-made (I also have two of their jackets, the features are unreal) and you can't beat this bargain. And they look good!!
By Frosty Baller from Cleveland, Ohio on 10/11/2007 Cons: Torso Too Short, Wears Out Quickly Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: its wayyy small. dosent fit right. arms are very constricting.
great product, great feel By hunter's daddy from new york, ny on 09/17/2007 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Upon inspecting the jacket you can see that the materials of the jacket were put together well. The jacket is not stiff and I found it to be quite flexible, which is a nice upgrade from previous Gore-Tex products that I have worn. Overall, reviewing this jacket as an casual/recreational user, the jacket has a nice feel too it and would purchase the product again.
By JVC from Melbourne, Australia on 09/14/2007 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Good ventilation, Plenty of pockets, Warm, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Intermediate advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have had this jacket for 4 days' skiing. During that time it variously rained, snowed and was nice and sunny. The Lancaster kept me nice and dry, then when it warmed up I was able to stay cool using the pit vents. Lots of pockets, and a quality feel.
I got the hot chocolate colour. You can't tell from the pictures, but the collar lining is the same material that is used on the 06/07 Orage York pants, so if you get them too it matches nicely.
Another nice touch - the inner mesh pocket on the right side comes with a microfibre sunglass bag that has a tether that clips to a hook inside the pocket.
This was an exceptional value By Grounds Manager from Western NC on 09/12/2007 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/ Recreational, Professional Guide Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It has many more features than my last jacket. It seems to be very well built and is very comfortable.
Fantastic Jacket for wet and cold By Big fish from Huntersville, NC on 09/12/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Perfect Fit, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket for a trip to Alaska, it was the best thing I brought with me. Of the seven days there, five were rainy and this jacket kept me warm and dry. The hood fit over my hat and still gave me plenty of peripheral view. The inner fleece sleeves and collar liner were soft and helped keep me dry and toasty.
This jacket was clearly designed with movement in mind and although I didn't use it on the slopes, I could tell that it allowed complete freedom of movement.
Nice extra features were the iPod carrier and the additional inner pockets to hold passports maps or granola bars.
I purchased a large and it was a great fit for me. I usually have a hard time with fit as I am in between a medium and a large and this jacket felt custom made for me.
