Pacific Outdoor Equipment

Pacific Outdoor Equipment

Based in Bozeman, Montana, Pacific Outdoor Equipment was started by outdoor enthusiasts who love backpacking in the surrounding Rocky Mountains and paddling down the Yellowstone River. Their love for the outdoors spawned Pacific Outdoor Equipment, a grassroots company devoted to producing some of the lightest sleeping pads on the market as well as innovative waterproof dry bags and packs specially made for canoeing, kayaking and backcountry travel. In fact, Pacific Outdoor Equipment received the 2004 Editors Choice Award from Backpacker Magazine for their groundbreaking MaxThermo sleeping pad. If your recreation calls for top-quality waterproof dry bags and outdoor sleeping pads, look no further than Pacific Outdoor Equipment.

Much lighter than traditional rugged bags. This lines my Kelty backpack for canyoneering and keeps everythign nice and dry. I also stuff the smaller 5L versions with extra clothes for a camp pillow.

Pacific Outdoor Cache Backpack with Padded Laptop Sleeve - Waterproof

Awkward for Petite, but Waterproof!
By computer commuter from San Francisco, CA on 08/10/2009
Pros:
Good Capacity, Strong Material, Tight Closure, Waterproof
Cons:
Bulky, Heavy when empty
Best Uses:
Paddling, Rainy commute, Sailing
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
it is bigger and bulkier than I needed for my 13'' laptop; the sleeve is o.k. but slightly awkward, has very strong velcro so it can be removed for the bag's versatility, however it is not a full sleeve when removed just a thick neoprene lining. Want to keep because of waterproof but a little too big and not completely comfortable on my back (I'm 5'3.) Nice divided pockets in front for everything- no water bottle holder but they are keeping everything sealed and there is a zipped pocket where bottle might go.

Comments:
I wanted a product that was waterproof to transport my personal gear while in the kayak, then be easy to carry once on land. This fits the bill perfectly. It will also be useful in more rugged kayak/camping/hiking adventures.

Pros:
Good Capacity, Strong Material, Waterproof
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Paddling
Describe Yourself:
Competitive
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I have spent countless miles and days in the backcountry and have had the opportunity to use a variety of products(some good, some not so good). This food storage system is versatile and stands up to a beating. It stays water tight and packs very well for long backpacking trips or canoe trips. I would recommend a smaller size for shoter trips.

Greyhounds seem to like them! They do not have a large amount of foam inside for old/arthritic dogs, but the dogs like them on hot days. Haven't taken them camping yet to try them out outside.
