Panoptx Streak Sunglasses - Polarized

worst ever!
By Steelie Dave from Snake River, WA on 09/23/2008
Pros:
NONE
Cons:
Inadequate Tint, Not breathable, Poor polarization, Uncomfortable
Best Uses:
Trash heap
Describe Yourself:
Fisherman
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Terrible, the description said fog resistant - these are the foggiest sunglasses I've owned. The foam liner stared falling off within a week- I cut it off. The lenses are impossible to clean. I see polarization lines (fuzziness)while I'm walking a stream. Junk, I've used them far too long because I don't have a deep budget for high end sunglasses. I am looking for a good product for a not outrageous price. That's why I shop Sierra trading Post. I've purchased many great sunglasses ( Smith, Serengetti, Coyote, Reptile)for very reasonable prices from Sierra Trading Post - I've never left feedback for anything- this product motivated me - My bad - bad purchase.

Within a week of wear, the interior layer of the lens began to bubble and peel away. I believe this layer is the anti-fog layer that is described in the owners manual.

This is my second pair of these glasses. My first pair I bought a few weeks ago before I left for a 4000 motorcycle trip. During the trip I lost them, and was forced to use a cheaper back up pair. There was a noticeable difference in these over the other, both in comfort, style and function. When I got back home I immediately ordered another pair. The eye-cups are thin, not like most other motorcycle type goggle, including other Panoptx styles. This is a plus for me, as they seem to hold just the right amount of moisture in from keeping my eyes from drying up (through dust and wind), but also don't fog the lenses. The frames fit my smaller than average head well, and I'm partial to seeing the world through rose colored lenses, which these have as well as being polarized, which is a plus. I can't think of any cons, maybe the fabric on the eye-cups will wear out over time, but I usually lose sunglasses long before this becomes a problem (as noted above).

lenses are peeling
By JohnVerified Reviewer from Salt Lake City UT on 05/14/2008

Adequate Tint, Attractive Design, Comfortable
Cons:
Heavy
Best Uses:
At The Beach, Athletics, Casual Wear, Driving
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I like everything about these glasses except that I've had them only about 6 months (and didn't wear them that much for most of that time) and already some sort of layer is peeling off the inside of both lenses. This makes them unusable. My previous pair of sunglasses lasted about 5 years.

Athletics

Comments:
I thought these glasses were going to be great...they sounded really comfortable and they were....BUT there is SO MUCH foam cushioning around the eyes that I felt like I was wearing swimming goggles. It didn't look very attractive. I'm sure they would be great for summer sports.

Like to use driving my convertible with the top down as the "padding" around the inside of the frame blocks sunlight from entering the top and sides of the glasses.
