You can see the design/threading, and it looks like the threads pull easily. In fact, there were already pulls in the shams, even before they had been used! I do not suggest this as an easy-care/every-day use type of coverlet.

We use it to keep us warm and protect our bed from dog hair, bark dust and wet paws. It's soft and cozy, easy to wash, and we love the fact that one side is ribbed. This way, we can see which side should remain up, even if we can't spot the everpresent hair!

It is warm, perfect for summer nights here in the mountains--an excellent value and looks beautiful too. The ribbed side makes an attractive bedspread. I would definitely recommend this, it has the advantage of cotton's washability with the softness of wool.
