By Roller1 from Billings, MT on 06/05/2009 Best Uses: Camping, Hunting Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Both are quality products. Someone else said the knife was hard to close. You have to pull back the safety before pushing over the blade lock. It does take two hands to close, but I don't find it difficult. The flashlight is very bright and fits in my hand well. Well constructed with an O-ring seal. Seal seems very positive & tight. Switch is on the base. Can't beat this combo for the money.

You can't destroy this thing By navyhill from Guam, USA on 05/27/2009 Pros: Good Capacity, Strong Material, Tight Closure, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Competitive Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Outstanding case just to use for luggage. I've recently did an extended trip to the Philippines and after multiple flights to numerous provinces the suitcase didn't have a bit of damage. The rest of my luggage did not fare as well.

Good flashlight, knife could be better By AtlFisher from Atlanta on 03/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Finish, Sharp Blade Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The flashlight seems to be fine, haven't got too much use out of it. The knife is great but way to hard to close. For the price, can't beat this set.
By Lytle Pond from Kittanning, PA on 01/15/2009 Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I keep it with me in my purse.
By Canoe Guy from Morrisville, NC on 01/05/2009 Pros: Bright, Durable, Very light Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have other Pelican flashlights. This one is the best, especially for backpacking since it is very light and small, yet extremely bright. I'd take this anywhere. Completely waterproof - although this is done with an o-ring seal, and you turn the light on by turning the clear, threaded bulb enclosure and this is sometimes a little hard to turn. But worth the slight disadvantage. Handy to just have to use AA batteries and not some special type.
By Diver Man from NJ USA on 01/04/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought two for diving; both failed at less than 80 feet. Leaky O-rings, possibly due to the units' age at time of sale, shorted out both lights and left one so hot the battery was in danger of exploding. Manufacturer notes that O-rings must be lubricated annually to maintain waterproofing. Sierra Trading Post did refund my purchase price.
By kris from denver, CO on 11/07/2008 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very solid piece of equipment, will handle about any condition you throw at it!
By Milan from Baltimore, MD on 08/22/2008 Cons: Flooded at 50-feet while Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The biggest problem I found with this is that it flooded at 50-feet while diving in salt water and ruined the reflector, so take that 500-foot rating with a grain of salt.
In addition, as someone else mentioned the terminals had come unglued and it took me a while to get them in the proper position.
