use with caution with big dogs By seeer from las vegas, nv on 05/09/2008 Cons: Too narrow for big dogs Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an absolutely great idea that is somewhat poorly executed. I have a lab/doberman mix (110 lbs) and as she has gotten older getting into the SUV has gotten more difficult. She took one look at this and knew what to do, but slipped off the side. There needs to be another model that is about 4 inches wider and say, 3 inches longer. The current size is for rat dogs.

By Loyal ST Customer from Sarsota,FL on 04/17/2008 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Our vehicle is a 4 wheel drive and sits high off the ground. We bought this so our large breed dog could get into our SUV without us giving a boost! Glad to have this heavy duty, easy on and off portable step.

Don't have dogs without it! By curlyh2odogs from Palo Alto, CA on 03/06/2008 Pros: Easily Cleaned, Easy Set Up, Good Construction, Lightweight, Stows Easily Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use mine for traveling in the car as well as for a secure place for my dog at dog shows and obedience trials. It's not safe for dogs to be loose in a moving vehicle (or even a parked vehicle) and with my dog contained, I can safely leave the roof open, the rear window open, and side windows partially ajar with the car parked in the shade. Easy to take into a hotel room.
And of course, for housebreaking and safe containment in the home when you cannot directly supervise a young or untrained dog.
I have made some modifications to mine to make it easier to carry and get in and out of the car. The manufacturer ought to talk to some of us.

is there a piece missing? By sleepypeepers from north carolina on 12/29/2007 Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: this product is exceptional quality; however, i can't decide just what it fits. it appears to designed for a large dog. i'm thinking theres got to be a piece missing. its heavy enough for a very large(110)dog, but nowhere big enough. it has a great durable explanable handle, but to use it i would need to walk on my knees!(i'm 5'2")
By price observer from WA on 09/26/2007 Pros: durable, stylish, Good Construction Cons: good for large breeds, Heavy Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Lasts for years. When you don't have a leash handy, allows to control your dog without stretching your arm. Build-in lead has a strong elastic, works great for my 120lb large breed.
Perfect quick animal control collar By Justin the psycho from Indianapolism Indiana on 09/12/2007 Pros: Easy Set Up, Good Construction, sturdy Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like the ease of control that the collar provides for me when I have company and my dogs are overly stimulated.
By pride76 from Saint Lucia on 09/12/2007 Pros: Good Value, High Quality Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The webbing, stitching and metal braces are extremely strong and so far seem to be resistant to the elements. Although they have not failed, I would have preferred strapped buckles rather than plastic clips for securing the harness, especially as my dogs tend to pull harder when they are restrained by the chest as opposed to collars. The elastic leash is convenient, but I rarely have use for it and would not advise relying on it during training or serious activity. Very good harness overall.
