By VT_Dave from Southern CT on 12/08/2008 Pros: Breathable, Dries Easily, Warm Best Uses: Cross Country, Downhill Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great accessory for the price. Better than using a bandana, like I usually do, but not as easy to get a snug fit. Great bargain though!
By Ultimate Shopper from Milwaukee on 12/08/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: You can breath through it. Is awkward to keep on your head. Some of the wires that you are supposed to breath through sometimes poke out.
Worth the price if you need something like this.
"better than sucking COLD air" By stan the man from LaGrange Georgia on 12/07/2008 Pros: Breathable, Dries Easily, Good Protection, Warm Best Uses: Backcountry, Cross Country Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Works great if you do not wear glasses; will fog them up when exhaled air escapes from breather
By mikem from Mpls, MN on 12/01/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This wrap seems top be a bit of a gimic. I can't see how this works any differently than a scarf. Worn as instructed leaves the lower neck exposed.
I will use this when I dont have room for the bulk of a scarf under my jacket. I used it once doing winter photography, standing in the wind, and it certainly kept me warm, but I do not think it was because of the design.
The Polar Wrap Exchanger Mask Is Superb By Phil Guest from Isle of Wight UK on 12/01/2008 Pros: Good Fit, Good Protection, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Freestyle Describe Yourself: Getting Started Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My dad uses the mask simply for helping him to be able to do the everyday stuff that people take for granted. Just being able to now go out when it is cold without feeling the awful effects of his chest condition(COPD)
Thank you for this product. My Mum has one too and they both wear them.
They look like they are going on a Bank robbery when they wear them together if you ask me but they don't care because it gets them out the house.
THANK YOU...
By MP from Broomfield, CO on 11/23/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I feel if I had a larger head or wore it over my helmet - it might stay in place. It just falls down every five seconds - more annoying than functional. It does feel as if it would be really warm if it worked.
By Jeff from Elgin, IL on 11/19/2008 Pros: Good Protection, Warm Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't taken it out on the slopes yet, but I don't see myself using this. I tried it on and it doesn't fit snuggly to my face or jawline. It also seems like it would fall down around my neck as I move around.
By norseman from Alaska on 11/19/2008 Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought them to wear under our snow mobile helmets. There's nothing great about the product. It doesn't fit well, the nose piece area is too loose & your can't tighten it up to fit snuggly. The elastic band fits too far down the back curve of your head. Therefore it slides down towards your neck and then pulls the whole mask down off your face. Worthless & the person that invented it obviously didn't spend time in harsh winter conditions.
By savy shopper from Mpls Mn on 11/19/2008 Cons: Not Breathable, Poor Fit Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: It was hard to get adjusted on the head in the correct position which was very frusterating. The velcro's closure is at the back of the head and I ended up with my hair all caught up in it which pulls while wearing it and hurt getting it out. Also I can't wear my glasses with the Exchanger mask or I fog up my lenses.
Works well but room for improvement. By lansford from Brainerd, MN on 11/17/2008 Pros: Breathable, Good Protection, Warm Describe Yourself: Advanced Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used this deer hunting in 22 degree weather and skiing in -10. The theory behind the mask is less of your core energy is used to heat the air you breathe. On that front it is successful. This past weekend I went deer hunting for the 5th time this year but the first time I used the polarwrap. The first 4 times hunting I struggled to keep my hands and feet warm. I tried down mittens with liners and electric insoles for my boots. In the first 4 cases I was cold in about 2 hours. Using the polarwrap I stayed warm without using the insoles or a mitten over my shooting hand. The downside to the polarwrap is it tends to slip down on the face out of ideal positioning. Breathing is also a little labored. If you wear glasses they may fog up. I solved this problem by wearing contacts. When skiing the polarwrap was again great but the polarwrap had some trouble keeping up with a high respiratory rate. There is model they make with a strap that goes over the head so the thing can not slip down on the face. I would buy that model again.
