It's neither. It is very pretty, very warm for reading around the house in the evening. It would be good for going out, too, with jeans or something dressier. The fabric is quite luxe and the color very rich.

Loved the colors. This scarf may be somewhat scratchy if you wore it over a sleeveless dress or top, but I had on a long-sleeved shirt and the scarf was great with it. Warm but not too heavy. The pockets are a nice feature.

Gorgeous wool...very textural. My mom will love it and be toasty.

The wool is sort of scratchy and thin. This is fine for throwing over your shoulders to take off the chill at the office or at home but it is not particularly elegant or luxurious. The pockets are a nice touch though & the saving grace.
