I own 4 of these head lamps By Jack Rabbit from New Jersey on 10/16/2009 Pros: Bright, Durable, Lightweight, Long battery life Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these head lamps so much I own four of them so I can lend them out when I lead backpacking trips. They are bright and very lightweight. If you do a lot of biking, they also make a kit so you can attach it to your bike.
Works fine for inexpensive headlamp By JB the hunter from Evergreen, Colorado on 10/15/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Good Price Cons: Light comes off headband Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking, Hunting Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great price on an inexpensive headlamp. I didn't have problems with the battery life of the headlamp, but I only used it on one hunting/camping trip so far. (It came with batteries!) The headband adjusts OK, but the light comes off the headband fairly easily, so you need to be careful not to lose one or the other when not wearing it on your head. The light beam does adjust up and down some.

It was nice to have the different settings.

I just used it to assist in making smores on the beach at Port St. Joe. It gives off plenty of light and is not a pain to wear. I will make sure to pack this for any night time activity. Well worth the money.
A must have for Outdoorsmen By Gunner from Remer, MN on 10/14/2009 Pros: Bright, convenient, Durable, Long battery life Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have used one of these for years and carry it in my pocket every day. It's amazing how many times I use it. I have used it fishing, hunting, hiking, looking for dropped items in dark places, finding keyholes in the dark, and many more uses. It's very light weight and the batteries last a long time. I never leave home without it!
Just used it on the Appalachian Trail. By Sure Foot (Trail name) from Indiana on 10/13/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable, Long battery life, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just got back from a section hike on the Appalachian Trail from Davenport Gap to Hot Springs, NC. I stayed up pretty late in my tent one night and had this thing running for a few hours on new batteries. The next night I ended up hiking for a few hours on the trail in the dark and used this to show my way down a pretty steep section to get to my car and it kept everything pretty well lit up. It never seemed like it was going dim. Also, it rained a little while I was using it. I was also in the clouds a lot. So, there was a lot of opportunity for moisture issues. None occurred. My only thought is that the casing seems like it won't hold together after replacing the batteries over a long time. I've only opened it up once, but it seemed like it didn't snap back together as it had before I opened it. Either way, I'm pleased and this thing is cheap, so no loss if I eventually throw it out. It's worth a shot.
1 of 4 was Dead on Arrival By Wonderbird from California on 10/13/2009 Pros: Bright, Long battery life Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: [...] These little lights are quite practical for setting up camp or taking it down in the dark allowing you to work hands free with a local light wherever you need it. I have also used them for backpacking / night hiking where it is just enough light to show you where you are going without overwhelming to environment. (Instead of sending the one defective one back I pulled the rubber boot off the switch and you can turn it on or off with paperclip or tiny twig. Not waterproof anymore though...)
Great camping bedtime light By The Cook from San Francisco Bay area on 10/13/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable, Long battery life, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this for reading in the tent and it does not bother my buddies.
I'm very pleased with the quality! By Tori and Daisy, early morning walkers. from Rochester, NY on 10/13/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This head light is comfortable and stable to wear. I walk my dog every morning before work, and it is dark at this time of year (Oct.), we leave the house between 5:00 and 5:30 AM. This is the perfect solution to those dark areas along the bike trail. I can adjust it to shine far enough ahead on the trail to be safe, and my hands are free to attend to the dog as needed. I can easily turn it off when we hit an area that is well lit by street lights, to save batter life. I had another brand in the past, that didn't stay put on my head, if you tried to turn it on or off while wearing it, you had to reposition it again. I never used it. This one is all I expected from a head light! Great product, highly recommended.
Perfect for Search and Rescue By tb69wemt from Warner N.H. on 10/13/2009 Pros: Adjustable Beam, Bright, Durable, Stable Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this light because I was looking for something that takes the same CR123 batteries my Sure Fire light, my Steri-Pen took and my camera takes. I have the solar charger for the Steri-Pen, so it made sense to to get it. I have had other lights from Princeton Tec and have found there customer service and warranty service to be outstanding! I can't comment on the Battery life because I use rechargeable and change them after using the light for a night, but the rechargeable batteries do last all night long. I use the light primarily for Search and Rescue work and have found it to be almost too bright at times, if that can be considered a downfall, it is one I can live with. The light has been subjected to more than one nights hard rain and survived with out a hitchI can not recommend this light enough
