By ksflyflinger from Kansas on 04/22/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Functional Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been shopping for a chest pack for sometime now. When I saw the price of this one I knew it would be inferior to the others ie: Simms, Orvis etc. When I got the pack in the mail I could not believe it, not only was it functional it had almost the exact features of the other brands. After I got it adjusted and filled to the brim with gear I was amazed the I couldn't even feel it!
By Richard from Blue Ridge Mtns of NC on 12/19/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Lots of Storage, Waterproof Pockets Describe Yourself: Casual Fisher Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great value for the money..doubles as a travel, photography carrier.
By Dry Fly from South Bay, Ca on 10/01/2008 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Used it a couple of times before giving to a friend. Liked the workstation with black backing & the zingers but little else. I found it hot to wear, and difficult to keep in place. The pockets / compartments are not well designed for my needs especially on the front of the pack.
A nice product plenty of pockets storage By unrig from Ma on 08/14/2008 Pros: Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use, Functional Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A nice product plenty of pockets and storage room and it is well built .
You don't need to be fisherman to know a quality product . Though I have fished most of my 43 years .
By troutbum from Portland, Or. on 08/14/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Functional Best Uses: Fresh Water, Salt Water Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought pack for surf casting in Oregon. Easy/quick to adjust height of pack on chest for different conditions. Front pack does NOT interfere with spey casting. Plenty of room for everything you need for a day on the coast. Has a few useless pockets, but with some scissors, velcro, and thread they could be made useful.
By Mickeyfin5 from Massachusetts on 08/10/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use, Functional Best Uses: Fresh Water, Salt Water, Traveling Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Agreat value..I would buy more if they were avaialble at this low price
Great day trip fishing pack By mffjm8509 from Colorado on 08/03/2008 Cons: Zipper operates one way Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack is great for a day on the stream or water.
Both sides easily hold a medium size container, and plenty of storage pockets.
If you target multiple species, you may want to set up two of these packs to prevent stocking and changing what you keep inside.
By chaddychicken from grass valley, ca on 07/23/2008 Pros: Easy To Use, Functional Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: very simplified and easy to use. great for stream fishing. keeps all the essentials right in front of you for easy access
By ocsquatch from Utah on 07/23/2008 Pros: Balanced, Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use, Functional, Light Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: No one should downgrade this product because it won't hold a full vestload of stuff. This is a minimalist pack and a very good one in most respects. Factor in the price and it is outstanding. I had a WJ Creel that was obviously very well made. It also dragged on the shoulder and was always noticeable. This pack sits evenly and keeps everything readily accessible with effective zipper rings. It requires some tweaking to make it ride right for you, and I find that adding a neoprene water bottle holder with a full beer really helps the balance. I agree that it needs a backside lower d-ring for a net.
By Lastchance from Central, PA on 07/21/2008 Pros: Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use, Functional, Light when loaded, Rugged material Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this pack to use for hot weather fishing during trico and terrestrial season. It's easy to use, light, and appears to be made of rugged material. It holds plenty of boxes and gadgets. I'll probably use it into the fall and winter.
