By Kansas fly fishin' woman from Topeka KS on 04/08/2008 Pros: Durable, Lots of Storage Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I expected to like this better than a vest, but I don't. The pockets, when full of fly boxes and spools, stick out so far out front (and I'm not THAT well-built!) that they get in the way while casting. You have to fumble around to find the zipper pulls because you can't see them; they end up on the outside lower corners of the main pockets when the pockets are zipped. For the same reason, you can't just unzip a pocket part of the way to peek into it; it has to be opened all the way. The zingers don't retract your tools tightly to the vest, and the adjacent pockets aren't deep enough to tuck your tools into them, so your hemostats and clippers are always flopping way out in front and getting in the way. It does hold quite a lot of stuff, however, has some handy D-rings and small inner pockets, and I like the back pocket because it gets seldom-used stuff out of the way. But fully loaded, this thing is just heavy and awkward. I always feel it is in the way while fishing. Maybe a large man would find it to be comfortable, but I don't.
Watermark Guide Lite Chest Pack By Tim from Asheville, NC on 04/04/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use, Functional Describe Yourself: Casual Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A bit on the small side for use on a day of fishing. More suitable for loading up a minimal amount of gear and a short trip. Good quality construction.

Well made, comfortable, excellent value. By JR from Springfield, VA on 03/21/2008 Pros: Easy To Use, Functional Best Uses: Fresh Water, Salt Water, Traveling Describe Yourself: Casual Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have not taking it fishing yet, however, I tried it on and did a couple of packing simulations. It seems well constructed, comfortable, and with enough space for a wadding/fly fishing trip.
By rr from CA on 03/21/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great little pack that holds a lot of stuff. I made a couple of changed to the hooks that hold items on the cords but I like the compact design and it is great for a fast trip to the river.
By Happy Angler from Salinas, CA on 03/17/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Functional Best Uses: Fresh Water, Salt Water Describe Yourself: Casual Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am primarily a fly fisherman; Use it in my canoe; also hiked many miles with this pack last year in S.E. Alaska and found it durable, easy to access and with just the right capacity to hold fly boxes, extra spool, snacks and a rain jacket. With 2 water bottles it slides down a bit, but not uncomfortably. Not waterproof, but resistant. Bought three more to give as gifts in'08!
one size fits all, doesn't work . By jonboat9 from indiana on 03/16/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy To Maintain, Functional Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: straps across shoulders could be longer to drop the pouch down the center chest area.
As described. Great value! By chude from Bishop ,Ca on 03/15/2008 Pros: Comfort, Easy To Use, Functional Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Packs what you need and you don't know it's there.
For the well-organized angler By desert southwesterner from roswell on 03/11/2008 Pros: Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use, Functional Best Uses: Fresh Water, Salt Water Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's very roomy and well organized for such a small bag. I also have a tackle backpack with room for everything we could possibly take along, but this little pack carries what 2-3 people need for streamside. Unless you're one of those anglers who want 3 different reels and everything that goes with it, this will cover your needs: an extra spool or two, tippet, small flyboxes, two water bottles and a snack. I don't know how waterproof it is (haven't dropped it in the water yet), but the zippers look pretty well-sealed.
