By m from Boulder, CO on 05/26/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy Casting, Line Doesn't Tangle, Reliable Best Uses: Fly Fishing, River Fishing Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This reel is sturdy and will be used hard. The drag system isn't the smoothest, but it will perform fine for the value, especially when taking into consideration the extra spool that comes with it. I use this for fishing lakes and am not extremely concerned with a super smooth drag system. Overall, I am happy with the reel and the price.
By High fly from Ft. Collins,CO. on 05/22/2009 Pros: Durable, Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Won't find a better reel for the price. I own exspense reels and they don't work a whole lot better than these for the cost difference.

By Fly Guy from Havre de Grace, MD on 05/08/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy Casting, Reliable, Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice 3/4 weight package. Very smooth reeling. Great case. Easy assembly and breakdown. Loads nice. Was able to throw a #4 bass popper under mild conditions. Caught several 9" bluegills on a chernobul ant first time out! Very pleased. The overall handling and performance is much cleaner and smoother than my St. Croix Triumph.

Great for catching the bigger fish, holds up to the stress of a largemouth on the end of a streamer. Got this with a 30% off promotion and almost bought two! GReat rod for the money with Ross quality in the reel, easily worth [$]retail!
Great functional real with nice drag By Trout Bum from Rockville MD on 05/02/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a well constructed highly functional real. The drag control, however, is very sensitive and easy to inadvertently change. I recommend checking the drag setting regularly while fishing, so you don't get surprised by a too loose to too tight drag when a fish hits.
