This reel will work for trout, light duty steelhead and similar fishing. Too bad they are stopping production, but this is just a great buy as a closeout. A good reel with extra spool to load up with extra lines and have in your bag.

You can find reels at about $60 with similar construction. Plastic drag knob is cheap. I get into so harry places and it is not uncommon to bang my reels around. this will get broken. I would not recommend because I think there are similar to better reels for the money. Your getting the name here and nothing more.

There are few opportunities to own a well made reel and spool combo at a very affordable price. Maintenance couldn't be easier, just wipe clean.

I own several high end Ross reels and when I saw the sale price on these was excited but had never seen this model before. When it arrived the excitement dissipated and I could see why they are on clearance. I gave it to my son and say they make a great novice reel.

This past weekend was my first time using it, and my initial impression of teh reel is great! It seems to be well made and I intend to get a lot of complication free use out of it.
