By healer from Sioux Falls, SD on 01/21/2009 Cons: Difficult to Install, Hard to Use, No written instructions Best Uses: Program for someone else Describe Yourself: Professional Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This product was pretty cool in theory. It holds a LOT of information that could really be useful. But there are no instuctions, and it really isn't user friendly. I LOVE that they're coming out with new stuff that can help, but I know how to program lots of electronics, and this was cumbersome at best. You certainly can get information out of it, but it's fairly large and it would be just as easy to keep a little notebook with the information to flip through that takes up less than 10% the size. I thought maybe I could program it for my elderly father who takes meds, because he could not program it himself due to memory problems. But even if I programmed it, it's not easy to navigate. I worked with it for 2 hours to put in basic information for myself and still didn't get every thing figured out. Maybe if I would have had written instructions my leaning curve would have improved. And if you make an error or need to delete something you've programmed, you'd better hope that you've either got a rocket scientist in the family or a LOT of time .... because it's not a simple process to change things (maybe that's good so you don't accidentally delete things you want). Over all, it's really a cool, cool idea that needs more research and development for practical use. I'm disappointed that it didn't work out, because I had planned to buy one for all of my elderly relatives.
By Belshaltazar from Destin Area, Florida on 01/19/2009 Describe Yourself: Value Oriented Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This product would be a delight if it worked. As a dash-top, general Alpaha (N,W,E,S) compass it is passable. Better compass service comes at four times the price. "Mosquito Repellant" characteristic works as well as the time and temperature services - it doesn't. Was about to return unit yesterday when the compass resumed operation -- I need it, and will risk keeping it.

By No name from Colorado on 12/29/2008 Best Uses: Keep In The Trunk Describe Yourself: Novice First Aid Skills Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The kit includes items that would be useful however they all seem cheaply made and would not last very long - some of the tools are made of plastic (tire gauge) and others are small making it harder to use (air compressor). It's nice that they all come together but I would probably put together my own emergency car kit next time in order to have good functioning/trustworthy tools.
By sparrowgrass from Ironton, MO on 12/16/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been doing lots of emergency preparedness training as part of my work. This IS NOT a complete disaster kit, but it is a good start, and a great thing to keep in the car.
Check out the Red Cross website for additional info on disaster kits.
I bought 3 of these for the folks who work in my office, and just ordered another one for myself.

I must admit I have't used this myself By Rosalie Traveler from nyc, ny on 11/16/2008 Best Uses: Adults, Service people overseas Describe Yourself: Motherly Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't used these myself. I have bought them to send in packages to our overseas troops. I haven't quizzed them about it--but the feedback from them has been great. There is always a game that they can play and they said that it was easy to move with.

Great value. Only negative is can't pick what frequency you are buyings so it interfered with other R/C car.

Looked far more juvenile than I thought. By AZ Bargain Hunter from Arizona on 11/09/2008 Describe Yourself: Budget Shopper Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for a grown niece in her 20's - she and her fiance are outdoorsy folks. I was disappointed in that it appeared to be more appropriate for a young child. I think I will give it to a coworker who has small children.
