By Bargain shopper from Central Ohio on 03/19/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Quality Construction Describe Yourself: Bargain Hunter, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This roman shade is installed on an all-glass front door. It does its job of providing privacy and looks nice. It is not sheer enough to see out of during the day. The self-locking mechanism is a nice touch, as not all roman shades come this way. The only way it could be nicer is if it also had a sheer inner shade. Then we could raise the outer, privacy shade during the day, and still have some privacy during the day but be able to look out, then lower the outer shade at night when we need more privacy. It is only designed to be spot-cleaned. If you're handy and willing to take a chance, I think it wouldn't take much work to make it hand-washable in the sink or tub. The shade is attached to the header with hook-and-loop tape, and the cords are only attached with two knots at the bottom of the shade.
By WinchesterW from Denmark, WI. on 03/11/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Quality Construction Best Uses: Bedroom, Kitchen, Living Room, Privacy, Small Windows Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are great thermal shades for blocking drafts. Very rich looking! Lighter color than I expected, but closer to what I really wanted!! No directions, so it's a little confusing as to how the brackets work, but they're fine once you put them up! Look great!
Beautiful window covering By seawitch from Washington, D.C. on 01/04/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Elegant material, Quality Construction Cons: 72 in shade is short 2in Best Uses: Bedroom, Living Room Describe Yourself: Bargain Hunter, High-End Shopper, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: the shades were easy to install, look beautiful, insulate without totally blocking light - allows a filtered light to pass through - the only negative was that the 72 in. shades are not quite 72 inches. They missed touching the sills by about 2 inches when mounted "outside"
By Arielle from Milford, CT on 12/28/2007 Pros: Easy To Apply, Improves Clarity/Finish Describe Yourself: Bargain Hunter, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These Roman blinds were very easy to install. They're also pretty sharp looking. The green along the edges is actually a darker green than the picture showed, so they didn't quite match my decor. The green is more on the olive side than on the sage side. They let a nice amount of light through, which is what I was looking for. Overall, a good value, especially for thermal shades. Just be careful if you're looking for a specific shade of sage green.

By rose, homeowner with old windows from schenectady, NY on 12/13/2007 Pros: Appear well made, Easy To Apply, Good instructions, Nice looking Cons: Made in China, No color at top of shade, Not well insulated Describe Yourself: Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for my living room windows in my 75 year old arts and crafts house. Although I like the style and color, I was really looking for shades with more insulating ability. The cotton shades appear to have a negligible thin backing and at first I wondered, "Where's the insulation?!" If you have newer windows I think they'd be fine, but if you're hoping for breeze stopping ability and heat conservation, I'm not so sure how these will perform.
