By Road Warrior from New England on 02/26/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I do a lot of driving in New England in the winter and this jacket is perfect while in the car (not bulky). It is not to warm when driving but warm enough when stopping for gas, etc... "Just Right"!
By BOB from Cincinnati, OH on 02/25/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is well thought out with a some extra material in the tail for when you are sitting or bending over, hidden elastic cords to cinch up the bottom, and pretty stretchy. It is a very thin jacket so its easy to pack or carry along with you, but that also makes it not very warm. It makes a great outer layer to block the wind and shed the elements though
Dolma: really good wool outerwear By Chris from NM on 02/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Extreme Conditions, Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought the Sherpa Gear Dolma wool jacket for my wife. I was also considering getting her the Icebreaker 340 Jetter and the Westcomb Jamboree Wool jacket. Both of those wool jackets have windproof polyurethane membranes and retail for about $200 and $250 dollars repsectively. The Dolma is listed at [$], probably because it does not have a windproof laminate. The Icebreaker and Westcomb are also excellent jackets, but she tried them all and preferred the looks of the Dolma. The Dolma features a Singtex thermal fleece on the inside (which is also featured on the Sherpa Gear Lobutse jacket I own and which I've found regulates my body temperature excellently). The outer shell is made entirely of a nicely brushed, but stretchy, coarse wool. The jacket has an athletic cut, with longish, trim sleeves (though no interior cuffs), and an angel-wing cut. It also has a stand-up, fleece-lined collar. The body is trim, though the waist is cut a tad high. The jacket moves well despite the trim fit and she finds that it's warm (on a par with the Thermal Pro fleeces she owns). It also breathes better than membranes typically do and fits under a waterproof shell if it's wet outside. The other jackets can't be work under a shell because 2 membranes are too much! The only rap on it is that the pockets are mesh lined on the inside and fleece lined on the outside. Why do companies do this? N.B.: I own 2 pieces of Sherpa gear and my wife owns the Dolma jacket; at their price point, I've found them to be a viable alternative to a lot of the (much) more expensive name-brand performace gear featured on STP. That said, I've read several reviews complaining that their stuff is chintsy. I'd recommend trying something that appeals to you first before writing them off! Their product line might not be consistently good, but the Sherpa Gear I've bought is as good as The North Face, Marmot, Golite and other name brand stuff I own.
great pants but sizing is way off By mt walker from mountain states on 02/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As other reviewers have said the sizing is WAY off. I ordered two sizes larger than my normal. Waist is a bit big but since these sit down closer to hips it works okay. That fit is a bit funky for me but the workmanship is good & the pants work the way I want so I'm happy with them. I'd have bought another pair if they were available.

By Darris of Cincinnati from Las Vegas, Nevada on 02/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Stylish Best Uses: Camping, Cold Weather, Hiking, Layering, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The Paljor baselayer is a well made top for cold weather. It is lightweight and comfortable but form fitting. I am getting heavier as I get older thought (over 40). If you get this on sale I think you will have a long lasting, good looking shirt combined with high value.
By STP Fan from Durham, NC on 02/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Legs a little too fitted, Runs small Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these for my husband. He's been looking for pants to wear in cold wet weather. Now they're all he wears! I read the reviews that they run small, so I got large even though he usually wears a medium. They fit fine in the waist. The legs are more tapered than most pants - give a slight paratrooper fit but it's OK.
