Unique cookbook worth a look By gift giver from portland, or on 12/18/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Local flavor, Unique Describe Yourself: Midrange Shopper Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a fun cookbook, especially for the NW enthusiast or sportman/woman. Restaurants ar picked for quality and staying power, not trendiness. Recipes are pretty varied. Not for the vegetarian, obviously, not good mix of history, travel, and recipes makes it more interesting than most cookbooks. Given as a gift.
By Strada from Seattle on 12/13/2008 Pros: Easy To Use, Functional Best Uses: Fresh Water, Ice Fishing, Salt Water Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This book is well illustrated with good pointers for tying the various knots. It's small enough to take with you but you should know the knots before heading off fishing. The pages are treated to repel water but I haven't subjected them to any rain yet. I ended up with two copies of the book and gave them, along with two different sized lines, to a couple of youngsters getting into fishing. They had a lot of fun tying some of these knots. Their confidence in knot tying really improved their independence on the river.
By CW from Wyoming on 12/03/2008 Pros: Compact quick, Easy To Use, Functional Describe Yourself: Casual Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Plenty of standard knots, clearly diagrammed. Especially good "shortcut-type" quick knots for when you're ready to fish, not fiddle with rigging up.

It has wonderful recipes from many top Seattle restaurants that will actually be able to be whipped up at home!! Dinner guests will be impressed!
By Renegade Purist from Utah on 11/18/2008 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The tying instruction are brief and not very specific. This book would be better for someone who already knows all the basics of fly tying but just needs some new ideas. If you are still in the process of learning some basic fly tying skills, this book is probably not for you.
