By MotorcycleIST from FL, USA to SD, USA on 03/30/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Sharp Blade Best Uses: Camping, Home, Hunting Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: haven't dulled the blade, yet or used it enough to truly test blade retention. It came out of the box sharp enough to shave hair. AUS8 is not my favorite survival blade material so I listed what I thought the uses of the knife would be. The sheath was nice enough and has the added tool pouch which could also carry a sharpening stone. I am still not sure if it's a full tang. It is lightweight for a knife it's length. I would not baton wood more than say 1.5" to 1.75" thick max and then use care. The blade is about 1/8" to 3/32" thick. centered beveled cutting edge ground at about 20 degs per side. All and all for the money it's a good camp/hike knife. mine had a TAIWAN stamp on it.

By blondie ww from Massachusetts on 03/30/2009 Pros: Functional, Functional sharp, Sharp Blade, Variety Of Tools Cons: Handle cover falls off Best Uses: Camping, Home, Survival Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this as a present and he loves it. It's a solid tool, though one of the handle covers falls off. Easy to put back on though. Blades are very sharp and it has a variety of functions. Very useful. Overall, happy with the purchase!
By guitaraddict from South Easton, MA on 03/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Finish, Sharp Blade Best Uses: Camping, Home, Hunting Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Excellent quality knife, sheath and multi-tool.
Knife is very comfortable and balanced. Grooves in spine provide great purchase for your thumb giving you excellent control. Razor sharp out of the box. Comfortable grip perhaps a little too soft. Too light for "survival" use but perfect for day to day medium duty. Nylon sheath has plastic liner and secures the knife very well. Multi-tool feels very robust (although I think I prefer my gerber) and fits in the accessory pocket on the sheath making this a very practical pairing. This will have a permanent home in my truck both for work and recreation.
By Dundee Bob from Dundee, WI on 03/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Finish, Sharp Blade Best Uses: Camping, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great knife for the price.
By panamintjim from Paso Robles, CA on 03/17/2009 Pros: Sharp Blade, Variety Of Tools Best Uses: Camping, Home, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The SOG is a usefull tool, but I wish it was about an inch shorter when closed. the belt loop for the case is mounted too low and the knife rides up on the belt. Tools are good quality and the pliers appear to be strong and won't bend.
Built Solid...Great present for Dad By Mickie from Garden City, MI on 03/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Functional, Sharp Blade, Variety Of Tools Best Uses: Camping, Glove box in car, Home, Hunting, Survival Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for my dad who is a gadget geek...very hard to buy for because he has everything....he LOVES it. I bought one for myself too for camping/hiking. I may actually buy another one to keep in my car. The picture shows a black leather sheath and we got brown leather ones. I don't care about that...but in case you do...
By Abuser of Tools from NC on 03/02/2009 Pros: Better brand on the marke, Comfortable Grip, Durable, Functional, Sharp Blade, Variety Of Tools Best Uses: Camping, Home, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great product. After hours upon hours of research, I have found that for people that really use their tools, SOG has one of the better products on the market. Have not had to use their Customer Service yet, but am not worried should I have to. Do your research, and you should find as I did that SOG is a tougher tool than its counterparts from Leatherman, Victorinox, Gerber, or Wenger.
