By Tree climber from Malvern, PA on 10/27/2009 Pros: Flexible, Sturdy/Durable Describe Yourself: Arborist Tree climber Sizing: Feels half size too big, Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am an arborist and need a boot that would be durable enough to foot lock up rope and stand in tight branch crotches and not break down. These boot are not too heavy and don't feel like ski boots. After a solid month or two of climbing in them they are working out in every respect. I would recommend them to any of my peers.
Sturdy, comfortable & warm By Lev from East Lansing, MI on 10/27/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Warm Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have bought one pair almost a month ago. I fell in love with them when I firs saw a pair in Romania (country of manufacturing). Provides lots of support (I have ankle problems and it really helps), it is not too heavy and very warm even with light socks (can't wait to try them out in real winter conditions). Overall I am satisfied with the purchase and I hope that they will last long and serve me well. The only thing that is not so great about it is the color: light gray.
Hard to find such a roomy toe box By Love classic clothes from Cambria, California on 10/27/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have wide forefoot and it's nice to have no contact between toes and shoe. I bought knowing these were big-ish, and that left room for additional inserts. Haven't put them in yet, though, because I like the ones that are in there.

By Mama Chickadee from Boca Raton, FL on 10/19/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm just breaking in my feet to my new boots. So far, the boots are great, and feel like my old boots. I've only worn them twice so far, each time on a 3 mile walk on the flat surfaces of South Florida. I have always taped my heels when wearing boots to prevent blisters. This works well for me, so I always do it and never have blisters. I'll write another report when I return from my hiking vacation.
I like the little hooks at the top of the laces and my previous boot inserts fit in these boots perfectly.
By Timberjay from Ely MN on 10/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good quality boots
By Geologist&Mom from South Central Indiana on 10/15/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational, Environmentalist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are heavy duty boots - stiff, but big on support. I have weak ankles and low arches and need the stiff soles and a lot of ankle support. They are roomy enough to accommodate my orthotics if I take out the existing foot bed. I like the leather lining - it is very soft and it took very little time to break them in. They do squeak a little, but this has diminished during the breaking-in process. This is my second pair of Raichle boots. My first pair lasted 8 years and this second pair seems to be as comfortable and well made as the first. I am very pleased.
By tyler the climber from loveland, co on 10/14/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant, Waterproof Cons: Heavy, Takes awhile to put on Best Uses: Cold Weather, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Verticle, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too small, Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i am getting into serious winter climbing and have looked at other brands like la sportivia, millet, and others, but this boot is just as good. it's the same boot that mammut makes just different name, even though they are the same company. overall, amazed at the boots, viberam sole, kevlar supergaiter, nice zipper. get a full size bigger. i wear an 8 street shoe and needed a 9 boot it takes some working at to get the boots fully on since there are inner boots. if you want it to be even warmer get the denali molded liners. kinda heavy boot, but well worth it. crampon compatible.
Much more than just hiking boots By Son of McGiver from Sequim WA on 10/12/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Fully lined, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Cons: A little on the tall side, Needs Break-in Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Backing Caring Loads in the 35 to 40 lbs. By Sierra McFoote from Vestal, NY on 10/11/2009 Pros: Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: My Merrell Chameleon stretch ii shoes are finally starting to wear out and I was looking for a replacement. These are not anywhere near the same level as my old shoes. These shoes have a very narrow width to them which would make them very uncomfortable to wear throughout the day. If you have normal sized feet or a little wider than normal I would avoid them. Also, the soles are quite rigid without much flex to them at all. In some ways it feels like walking on ice. The soles also raise you up quite high off the ground.
