By ItchyRichy from Boston, MA on 09/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Water Resistant Best Uses: Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these shoes to replace my 4 year old Merrell Chameleon shoes that I loved but finally wore out. The Raichle shoes fit nicely (I went a half size larger as recommended) and initially were very stiff but broke in quickly over the course of a couple of days. I am ooking forward to several years of use out of these!
Give the Raichle Boot to tough hiking. By Sasquatch from Sault Ste. Marie Canada on 09/27/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Good fitgreat on rocks, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Great on uneven terrain, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational, Environmentalist, Like to go wherever Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My second hike with the new books was down a path of sharp rocks and uneven terrain. I felt total confidence in the boots and the sharp stones were not a problem on the feet. Walking later on a rocky shoreline, the boots preformed well giving me lateral support and less fatigue when walking on loose rock. At the end of the 4 hour hike over a variety of terrain my feet felt great. Time will tell on longevity...

Stiff, but after break in they should be great. I am happy with my choice.
By Black Coffee from Crested Butte, CO on 09/22/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable break-in, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought a full size larger than street shoes, and they fit great. I have low volume narrow feet. Also tried the Asolo FSN 95's (too wide, but comfortable), the Asolo Synchro's (great fit, a bit too wide), and the Vasque Alpine LT's (also wide, and construction seemed like a 2nd in quality). So far I've hiked a couple hours in pouring rain, and stood around in a muddy field at a concert, and they're watertight. They require some break-in for sure, but so far no blisters.

Now I can't find them in stock anywhere - but I won't stop looking. Yes, they are the best boot ever made.

By kr from ca on 09/21/2009 Cons: Too Stiff/Not Flexible Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Listed sizing confusing - had to order 3 different sizes to get it right and they still felt big overall. Stiff in the ankles. Would need some breaking in time. Looked well made but did return them
By Jen from Madison, WI on 09/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these boots, even after seeing the low customer rating, primarily because of my wet feet after walking to work in the Wisconsin winters. These boots are awesome. 2 miles/day, 4 days/week at the LEAST for one season so-far, and they still look brand new. Can't wait for winter!
By kksly from Kalamazoo, MI on 09/17/2009 Cons: Heavy, Not Water Resistant, Stiff Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I thought these shoes would be water resistant but my feet were soaked just walking through the grass from the dew. I am sending them back for a better shoe.
By Aussie Bushwalker from Queensland Australia on 09/16/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wore the boots for a day at work to break them in but now don't think that was necessary. Have worn them on a couple of weekends backpacking with fairly heavy loads and very rough rocky terrain. Boots gave good support, were very comfortable waterproof and warm. Previous reviews said to get half a size bigger, which I did and the fit was just right, so go half a size bigger. Love My new Boots
