If you go where the chamois go ... By Supermensch from Davis, CA on 03/25/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Big Game Hunting, Bird Hunting, Cold Climate Describe Yourself: Recreational Hunter Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Not your typical American-style hunting coat, but an excellent German-Austrian rendition of active fieldwear for walk-up hunting or stalking. Quiet, warm, sturdy. Not camo, but a version of feldgrau (literally, "fieldgray": a traditional green-gray German Army colour) that blends into the landscape wonderfully in a wide range of foliage situations. Tailored in Croatia, this is a well-made garment that -- especially at the sale price -- was a true bargain.

nice, with serious quirks By roustabout from oakland, ca on 02/08/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This really is a nice coat - warm and unusual looking. I'd forgotten it was corduroy until I stopped in to review it. It has a nice feel, but some serious quirks.
What happened to good zippers? Once it warms up some, I'm going to see about getting the zipper on this removed and replaced with a good quality, double ended YKK zipper. The buttons are well enough placed that - unless it's windy - they work well enough. I would have liked fasteners on the outside chest pockets - they tend to be where I prefer to carry things like palm pilots for ready access, and I could easily see the pockets' contents spilling out.
When I first tried it on, I thought I was going to be sending it back. Now, I figure I'll keep it and at least get the zipper addressed. The feel is nice and I like the warmth (better than an old LL Bean Maine Warden's Parka) and the feel.
By Clotheshog from Chicago on 01/04/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, X-country skiing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought this for my hubby for Christmas and he loves it - padding protected him from a spill when skiing in the UP and it was nice and warm for him when we walked the dogs in a very cold Chicago lake wind.
By Pilot Bob from Europe on 12/30/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Spent a day in the stand hunting in Scandinavia at 0C in light wind, minimum base layer, and over a sportcoat in the city for an evening out - excellent all around. The first coat I grab for most occassions.
By Chicken man from Ellijay, GA on 12/30/2007 Describe Yourself: Experienced Hunter Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very heavy, well made coat.
By BoulderAT from Boulder, CO on 12/26/2007 Pros: Breathable, Camo Design, Comfortable, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Recreational Hunter Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants were clearly well-made when they arrived, and despite unfounded worries about a baggy fit and itchy wool, they are working great. They seem to get more comfortable the more I wear them, fit great, regulate temperature well, and look good.
By Mike from Cross Plains, WI on 12/24/2007 Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very distinctive looking coat. Got it to wear in intermediate cold weather when my heavy down parka was too warm, but it's almost as warm as the down. Zipper openings in armpits help there though, and it's nowhere near as bulky as down. Fine as a cold weather coat, but if I were going to use it for hunting or other extended time in the woods, I might want a few more pockets.

Versatile enough for the barn, a hunting trip or running errands in the city. A remarkable product!
