Rohner of Switzerland

Rohner of Switzerland

Rohner socks are made in Switzerland and are among the softest, most comfortable socks in the world. Expertly crafted on sophisticated Swiss knitting machines since 1933, Rohner produces performance-engineered socks worn by world-class trekkers and climbers. Rohner uses soft merino wool - a natural, itch-free fiber that warms and cools as temperatures dictate - and incorporates other fibers for strength and stretch. Upper foot is designed with a more airy knit that has great stretching power in addition to great breathability. All toe seams are linked by hand according to the meticulous workmanship standards for which Rohner is known.

Very disappointing
By OldRattler from Upstate NY on 11/12/2009
Pros:
Good foot comfort
Cons:
Will not stay up
Best Uses:
None
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
Fit:
Feels true to size
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I have read how good these socks were and was excited to find them at this price; however, as far as I am concerned they are much over-rated because they will not stay up. I am constantly having to pull them up. The top section is about 2" too short and not nearly leg hugging enough to keep them in place (and I do not have skinny legs)! The foot bed is great. I may cut the tops off and use them with golf shoes.

I used these socks to hike Mt. Whitney in October. It was chilly in the shade and warm in the sun, but the socks kept my feet warm and dry, without causing blisters.

Socks Don't stay up
By pafmarwakVerified Reviewer from OR on 10/31/2009

Cons:
Bunches Up, Slide Down, Uncomfortable
Best Uses:
Hiking

Comments:
These work okay in tall Hiking Boots but constantly slide down in regular shoes. Both my husband and myself purchased these socks and we both noticed the sliding down problem and we were constantly pulling on the top of the sock. I guess these make good 'slouch' style socks:*)
