Rossignol

Rossignol

You may not think of Rossignol’s one-hundred year history while you’re carving on a pristine powder run or ripping through moguls... but it’s there. The authentic quality, the progressive research and the time-endured experience only a century in the business can bring is at the core of every Rossignol ski, binding, boot or board. A "pure mountain company," Rossignol pushes the boundaries of technology to give those who choose the mountain as their playground a distinctive edge in alpine and Nordic ski equipment. Rossignol perpetuates innovation from their knowledge of the past and defines a true ski company whose users - Olympian or novice - find their hearts in the mountains.

My son purchased this coat. Initially we ordered a size too small. reordering was very easy and he is happy with the exchange. He loves his coat. while we haven't had the opportunity to test in extreme cold or conditions, we are assuming it is a great coat.

Good deal for the price. It would be nice if there was a tad more insulation, but you could always wear something warmer underneath.

Super small, but too much room in heel even though my toes are crunched. Otherwise look like excellent boots. Wish you had a 46 or 47 in stock, because these 44s are coming back.

Cons:
too much for a beginner
Best Uses:
All area, Downhill, Icy Conditions, Powder, Racing
Describe Yourself:
Advanced Skier
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
perfect all-around ski. responds well in all conditions and terrain. i have skied on a pair of Z5s for two seasons now. sometimes there is fresh powder, sometimes it's crusted ice, and this ski has done well in all of it. i like to hit the advanced slopes and moguls pretty hard. and then i follow it with a relaxing glide down the easy trails. the Z5 does it all. this ski is not for a beginner though, it seems perfect for an advanced skier or an intermediate looking to improve.

Great Ski

Pros:
Very responsive
Best Uses:
Downhill, Racing

Bottom Line:

Comments:
I am not sure why this is listed as a beginner ski. Rossi calls it an advanced to expert ski for use at slightly lower speeds than the Z9. Anyway, it is a wonderful ski. I tried both the Z5 and the Z9 before buying these. I found they were a nice compromise and that the Z9's took a lot of effort to drive so taking a relaxing run was difficult while they were beautiful at full speed. I find the Z5's to be an excellent compromise. They are wonderful in the gates at full speed (I used to race competitively but now just do it for fun) but also respond when taking lazy turns down the long beginner runs. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a solid all mountain ski. I also think they are much too stiff for anyone below an advanced intermediate.

Great all around skis. They are stable, turn when you want them to, fly straight, go through any type of snow conditions.
