By swaby47 from NY on 11/18/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy To Attach, Good Grip Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The photo made the collar look like it had a hold or pull back handle which it doesn't. I am still keeping it as nice heavy quality collar.
I have bought this product again and aga By maxperson from bedminster, nj on 11/12/2009 Best Uses: Everyday, Larger Dogs, Training Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The reasons that I have had to replace this collar several times are good and bad news....The good news is that they wash well...and since the dog rolls in every kind of manure on the farm they must be washed often....and they do this very well....I need to have at least two on hand at all times.
The bad news is that the plastic buckle that alters the neck size, when chewed by the dog...(my fault) develops very sharp edges and is no longer usable. I guess I should have asked you if there is a way to get replacements. When replaced with a metal buckle, there is no further problem, but the metal buckle tends to slip a bit.
By Bill S from Columbus, OH on 11/09/2009 Pros: Dog can move freely, Easy to Put On, Good Quality, Keeps head out of water Describe Yourself: Dog Family, Single Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I searched the internet for the best recommendations. This vest doesn't restrict your dog's movements and allows him to doggie paddle without binding his legs. This vest will keep your dog's head above water even while he's resting. No worry about your dog getting too tired when swimming or falling overboard.
Wonderful PFD for your best friend. By BassyMom from Taylorsville, NC on 11/04/2009 Pros: Cute, Easy to Put On, Fun, Good Quality Describe Yourself: Lake Dweller, Single Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this Float Coat for my 90 lb Lab/Great Dane mix last year from another company. We live on a lake and the water at our dock is over 10 ft deep, so it is a necessity that my dog wear a life jacket. We spend hours in the water and this jacket allows him to stay in the water with us without wearing himself to exhaustion. He has a huge chest and with his weight I ordered an XL for him and it fits him beautifully without any binding or irritation. I wish that I had found this jacket at STP 'cause I would have definitely preferred their price!!! At this price I'm going to purchase another float coat for my "granddog"!
Works well, but hardware is heavy By Doglady from Cuyahoga Falls OH on 11/03/2009 Describe Yourself: Long-Time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm using this coupler when I hike with my two large dogs - 60 and 75#. The hardware is heavy enough to handle their strength, but seems too heavy relative to the lightweight shock cord. I checked both the product tags and manufacturer's web site for a weight limit, and couldn't find any, so I decided to keep it but I'm watching for signs of premature wear. The design does prevent most tangles, and each dog has a bit of room to sniff without the other, but you do have to watch to make sure they don't start to tangle. It is well made, as is true with all the Ruffwear products I've purchased. If you've never walked dogs on a coupler, this is a good one to try. Not all dogs will handle it.

We have not had this problem since we bought this collar which was much better than a choke chain.
