By krob from Memphis, TN on 10/25/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been looking for a trench/rain coat that fits me well (I'm 5'11") for years. I followed recommendations from other reviewers and ordered 2 sizes up, which seems to be perfect. I did not expect much, having had no luck with many different coats, but this one is cut surprising well and is very flattering to me. The yellow is very bright, but very becoming, and if you don't mind attracting attention, is a beautiful color. I wear a lot of black, along with browns and greens, and I think this will go with almost everything in my closet. I haven't worn it in a downpour yet, but for keeping off a light rain from your professional clothes, it's a nice, trendy alternative to my fire-engine red Gortex mountain parka.
By VeilofVirtues from Chicago, IL on 09/03/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Well Made Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This trench is really cute. I purchased the yellow and feel like I bring sunshine with me where ever I wear it. Everyone comments about the color. I love it and if they had an Aqua one in my size, I would be buying that to add to my trench-collection.
Jheri richards Wool Gabardine Coat By New York New York from NYC on 07/16/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Stylish, Versatile Best Uses: Going Out, Office, Travel, Work Meetings Describe Yourself: Classic, High-end shopper, Practical, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The coat is cut quite irregularly. While the chest is fine and feels true to size, the hips are narrow, meaning the cut is very straight going down. Shoulders are quite broad, which works okay for me since I am broad shouldered but may not work so well for others. Similarly, the length seems more than 52", which is okay for me again since I am tall but may not work for others. The sleeves, which are meant to be turned up would be too short if one did that, I think for just about anyone. They only work if left turned down, which looks fine, no problems with doing this because of the way the sleeve end is hemmed. Fabric is lovely and the coat is flattering despite everything and classic. It's worth taking a chance on this one, it's a great bargain, but be aware there are problems with the cut.
By Jo from Ohio from Akron, Ohio on 06/15/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Office Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented, Practical Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The fabric was scratchy, and the size 12 was just too big for me (I usually wear an 8 but sized up based on the comments of others). And the sleeves were so long I could barely see my fingers. For the money this coat wasn't worth it.
By Diannin LA from Los Angeles on 05/18/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Office, Travel, Work Meetings Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented, Practical, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This was a very well-made coat. They didn't have my size, but I took a chance that maybe it would fit. It didn't. 'Not the maker's fault. Just my own. 'Had to return it.
too military looking for me By bee from atlanta, GA on 05/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Versatile Best Uses: Going Out, Work Meetings Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Practical, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great color. When I tried it on and looked in the mirror it felt like a military jacket with the flaps in the back over my shoulders. I ordered the pink which is a great color for a raincoat. If you have wide shoulders it is not flattering.
By Practical Working Mom from New York, NY on 04/29/2009 Describe Yourself: Classic Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Way too long and unattractive color
By Disappointed from New York on 04/20/2009 Best Uses: Office, Travel, Work Meetings Describe Yourself: Classic, Stylish Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The coat seemed like what I was looking for and was good quality and a good price. However,it was too large in the shoulders, but the sleeve length was perfect, so I felt like the sleeve length in a smaller size would be too short.
