too narrow - bad fitting shoe By Car from St. Louis, MO on 01/27/2008 Best Uses: Strength Training Describe Yourself: Rarely Workout Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: the flap that hold the shoe string down is loose (not attached). it just floats around
I have 3 pairs of MBT and really love them. but this pair needs to improve.
By Charley from Columbia,SC on 01/27/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I feel the idea behind these shoes is great and I feel they are right for a lot of people, but maybe the style was wrong for me. I have a narrow heel and an average width foot, these shoes rubbed on my heels, they felt pretty stiff and run smaller than normal. I probably will try another style where the heel can be adjusted. I am returning these, sure love the color!!! Charley

By Bundysmom from Las Vegas, NV on 01/23/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable Describe Yourself: Casual, Conservative Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've been eyeballing these shoes for a year now and finally got them! I regret waiting so long. I've been wearing them the last few days and I have to say my low back and rear and hips are really feeling it!!! They takes a few minutes to get used to, meaning, learning to balance and walk in them, but after that, best shoe ever! And walking around in Las Vegas can be torture on your feet---not in these!!! I'm buying a pair of the sneakers next!
By footloose from California on 01/21/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Squooshy Best Uses: City, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual, Exploratory Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered my usual size, after using a printable shoe chart from the MBT website. That chart runs somewhat narrow. I always get M width shoes, but my foot grazed the "W" zone of the chart. In this sandal, the toe area is snug but comfortable for me.
If you ever think medium sandals are too narrow, a half size larger might help.
I adjusted the back strap to allow my heel to be flush with the back of the shoe. Actually, the bony part sticks out beyond the insole, but my sole ends exactly at the end of the insole. Then I adjusted the other straps to conform.
There is room in front of my smaller toes, but I think this is part of the design, to suit various lengths of toes.
The rocker part of the sole feels squooshy when you step down. It does not feel like it could throw you off balance or be dangerous on uneven surfaces or stone steps (my initial concern).
Still, I would not recommend these to people with balance problems, unless they want to give them a very careful trial. They might be fine, I just don't know.
I wish the straps could have been made adjustable with small metal buckles, because I never like the look of Velcro straps. If I hadn't been so curious to try MBT shoes after a friend got some, the Velcro would have kept me away.
The leather is a pebbled finish outside and split and brushed inside. There is a plastic buckle for putting the sandal on, so you only need to adjust straps for the first few days you wear it.
i would buy this product again By the cook from ga on 01/19/2008 Describe Yourself: Conservative Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: shoe is very comfortable. need to order 1/2 size larger like they suggest. i normally wear a 7.5 in a tennis shoe and ordered an 8 and seems to work. am anxious to see if shoe does all it claims.
By nic from missoula, mt on 01/17/2008 Pros: Durable, High Quality Best Uses: Running, Walking, Working Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes take a while to get used to how you have to walk, but once you do they are sooo comfortable. I am a nurse and where them everyday during my long shifts and my back and feet never get sore.
By nc from Columbia, SC on 01/12/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Padding Cons: Band under laces is bad Best Uses: Pavement, Strength Training, Trails Describe Yourself: Rarely Workout Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have the MBT sandals and wanted a closed style. The sandals run short so I got these shoes a full size larger and they fit. The thing I really didn't like about them is the elastic band that is under the laces. It's strong elastic and putting the shoe on is a struggle. Also, the little leather tab at the end of the laces is not attached to the shoe. It just flops around.
