The length is perfect, they are matte, not shiny. I wore them on an 85 mile ride with plenty of climbing and they were as comfortable as can be. I recommend these shorts. I typically wear a size 2, 5'7" and I got a small. If you like them mega form-fitting, order a size down. The small fit me without too much constriction.

This runs truer to size, and the large is too big. I would advise to order your usual shirt size.

The padding in these was a bit too much for using in other activities, like soccer, which is what I bought them for. I ride very casually so I am not the greatest judge of these for their intended purpose, but my overriding thought was that they are just too low in the front. I like to keep it all underwraps if you get my drift and these just don't do that; they will let it all hang out and that's just distracting when I'm playing soccer or riding.
