SmartWool

SmartWool

SmartWool... the name says it all. Take all the natural qualities of wool - like its ability to regulate temperature and resist odors - and remove the itch! How smart is that? SmartWool uses only the softest, strongest and whitest merino wool from specially selected sheep in New Zealand. It’s that fine merino wool - with a far lower micron range (less coarse) - that gives SmartWool its unique, un-wool-like softness! Oh, and did we mention SmartWool products can go right into your washer and dryer? And they do so without shrinking! SmartWool socks and base layers regulate your body’s temperature naturally to keep you warm on the slopes or cool on the trail. The fibers actually move moisture faster and resist odors better than synthetics. SmartWool has completely revolutionized the way people think about wool by capturing all of wool’s natural strengths... and leaving the itch behind.

Wish that Sierra trading post would have a fit guide telling us how high socks are. These are below ankle height, just fine for my purposes, but sometimes the descriptions are not clear.

I bought these for my daughters because they like to wear the low cut thin socks. They weren't impressed but I am wearing them to sleep in when my feet are cold. They are light enough and non-constricting to be comfortable in bed.

Nice sock for the price. Very nice feel, prefer the Brigedale socks but you can't beat the value for the smartwool. Great for your average day on the slopes, forget about worrying about your feet!

I actually bought this for two reasons: I wanted to have knee high socks for the winter, and IN CASE I tried skiing this season. They were on sale and I couldn't pass them up. I have a good number of Smartwool socks, and these are just as reliable. They stay up (I've got those calves where socks don't like to stay where they're meant to), they're soft and keep my feet warm, but not sweaty. I don't know what they feel like in a ski boot, I'm sure they're great.

Comments:
It is kind of hard to be amazed by a sock, but these socks are truly amazing. The sock is engineered so that different knits and blends of material are used in different zones across the foot to make the sock stretchy and snug where it needs to be stretchy and snug, extra cushy where it needs to be extra cushy, flexy where it needs to flex and extra tough at points of high wear. All these different "zones" come together beautifully to create a perfect fit with no loose or tight spots -- great comfort and functionality. Should prove extremely durable too. My "go to" sock from now on.
