A fabulous item if the sizing were right By Gail from Brooklyn, New York on 07/14/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Stylish, Versatile Cons: Is overall too large Best Uses: Casual Work Days, Comfort-Oriented, On a Date, On The Weekend, Special Occasions, To School Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual, Classic Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I found this product to be of the highest quality, both in looks and performance. They're beautifully crafted and wearable in all seasons. I would grade these knit pants with 5 star+ except for the sizing which I found puzzling. I generally take a medium to large depending on the manufacturer. I had initially ordered a Size 1, which is comparable to a medium. The fit was overall so loose, that I returned them for a size 0...you can't get smaller than that in Joan Vass. To my surprise the Size 0 was also too large. Having worn them immediately to an occasion that called for a little bit dressier knit, I couldn't return them. With a smaller size I easily would have ordered two or more pairs. However all in all the quality is outstanding. These may by sized for women with large builds.

By Kaatskills Kate from NYC town and country on 07/02/2008 Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Here's my problem with Semplice -- the quality's all over the place. I bought two pieces in the black knitwear, the travel pants and this jacket. The waistband unraveled on the pants (they went right back) and the collar came off this jacket. Both pieces are poorly constructed. On the other hand, I have a beautiful cotton-cashmere-silk Semplice sweater and I love it, a great travel piece that's holding up beautifully after many wearings. Made in China, take your chances. The whole line runs big, size down.

Cool, cling free, bra friendly By k-9 from columbia SC on 06/16/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Bra friendly, Comfortable, Cool, Durable, Flattering, High Quality, Nonclingy, Versatile, WASHABLE, Wrinkle Resistant Best Uses: Casual Work Days, Cocktail Party, Comfort-Oriented, On a Date, On The Weekend, Special Occasions, To School, To Work, Travel Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Career, Casual, Eclectic Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is awesome--cool, doesn't cling, doesn't show every bump. It is washable and packable, but I steam pressed it to look neater. It does have the tendency linen has to absorb moisture and droop a bit, but the other fibers keep it from bagging. Looks great with the cardigan. Covers my bra including straps.
I ordered more Semplice when I got these pieces.
capri pants are quite comfy By Byerlyca from California on 06/13/2008 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice material and comfy fit. Just exactly what I wanted.
By Kaatskills Kate from NYC and upstate NY on 06/12/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Flattering Cons: ClingyTight Fitting, See Through Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a nicely cut dress, even if you're a little on the heavy side. It's flattering. But I sent it back. You can see through the flimsy linen knit (color of your underwear visible through the fabric) which clings like crazy. This dress just doesn't work unless you purchase the matching duster, and never take it off. Too bad.
By LauraDee from Marietta, GA on 06/12/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Versatile, Wrinkle Resistant Best Uses: Casual Work Days, Cocktail Party, Comfort-Oriented, On a Date, On The Weekend, To Work Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Classic, Eclectic Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had already purchased the Semplice open cardigan in olive and loved it when I first saw this dress, so, of course, I had to have it. I found the shaped ribbing at the bust to be very flattering. The shoulder straps are narrow, but are positioned just right so that my bra straps did not show. And, the length is ideal for me, hitting just below my knee. (I am 5'5".) I can see wearing this dress for summer, with or without the cardigan and with sandals, and also for Fall, with tights and a blouse underneath, maybe belted or with boots. It is very versatile.
