Smith Sport Optics

Smith Sport Optics

The Smith Sunglasses tradition began long before Dr. Bob Smith struck a deal to manufacture Smith Goggles. His Smith Goggles had been legendary with locals in Sun Valley, Idaho, for years. Initially made around a kitchen table and traded for lift tickets, they were just too awesome to be kept secret for long. After realizing the demand for his technology and innovation, Smith was founded in 1965 with the first ever breathable vent foam and sealed thermal Smith goggles lenses. Soon expanding into Smith Sunglasses as well, Smith became a force to be reckoned with in the optical industry. Today Smith Sunglasses and Smith Goggles are on par with the best in the world. Tapered Lens Technology (TLT) allows light to travel directly to your eye instead of distorting it along the way, providing enhanced clarity and exact positioning of objects in your field of vision. Other Smith innovations include Fog-X anti-fog coating, PMT ventilation system, and the patented Turbo C.A.M Constant Air Management system. Remaining in the forefront of the industry with breakthroughs such as this has kept Smith Sunglasses going strong and given the name instant recognition worldwide. Suffice it to say, that’s a long way from hot glue in the kitchen.

Stylish, but I a little heavier than I would like. If you have a big head, you may find these glasses a little too tight.

There was nothing inherently wrong with these glasses, they were just way to big for my face. As they are made for women, I expected they'd be much smaller.

The lens size was too large for my taste! Think the sheriff in "Smokey and the Bandit" or the boss in "Cool Hand Luke."

I bought these to replace an old pair of Oakleys that finally broke. These are perfect for running. Good eye coverage, don't bounce around, and good looking. Multiple len choices are nice too.

Not as cool as my last pair of Smiths...
By Pete the Pioneer from Santa Fe, NM on 11/08/2009
Pros:
Adequate Tint, Comfortable, Good Polarization
Cons:
Unattractive Design
Best Uses:
Casual Wear, Outdoor sex, Special Occasions
Describe Yourself:
Modern, Practical
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
These feel cheaper, not as 'beefy', as my previous Smith glasses of a similar style. The lenses are not 'recessed', which make them feel more like $14.99 drugstore glasses than high-quality Smiths. I will hold out for some more styley glasses.
