Smith Sport Optics

Smith Sport Optics

The Smith Sunglasses tradition began long before Dr. Bob Smith struck a deal to manufacture Smith Goggles. His Smith Goggles had been legendary with locals in Sun Valley, Idaho, for years. Initially made around a kitchen table and traded for lift tickets, they were just too awesome to be kept secret for long. After realizing the demand for his technology and innovation, Smith was founded in 1965 with the first ever breathable vent foam and sealed thermal Smith goggles lenses. Soon expanding into Smith Sunglasses as well, Smith became a force to be reckoned with in the optical industry. Today Smith Sunglasses and Smith Goggles are on par with the best in the world. Tapered Lens Technology (TLT) allows light to travel directly to your eye instead of distorting it along the way, providing enhanced clarity and exact positioning of objects in your field of vision. Other Smith innovations include Fog-X anti-fog coating, PMT ventilation system, and the patented Turbo C.A.M Constant Air Management system. Remaining in the forefront of the industry with breakthroughs such as this has kept Smith Sunglasses going strong and given the name instant recognition worldwide. Suffice it to say, that’s a long way from hot glue in the kitchen.

Comments:
I have owned several different pairs of Smith sunglasses over the years, I have alway chosen the Slider series because of the interchangeable lenses. This pair has quickly become my favorite pair. They are very comfortable and feel like they fit very securely. I have not used the rose colored lens yet but just looking through the lens I think they will be great for those low light days.

The ability to change the tint of the lenses is great! The size is perfect for a woman's face. They might be a bit small for a man with a wider face.

I love these goggles - have been skiing since 1973 and these are my favorite goggles so far. They are very stylish - love the clear blue frames - and the rose lense is great for snowy conditions and flat late afternoon light. They are made for women's faces, but are slightly small for me - maybe because I'm used to huge men's goggles!

I used them only on two trips so far. One day was sunny and the other day was foggy. They did a good job on both days. Visibility could be a bit better.
