By Mountain girl from Baker, NV on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots were a really nice surprise! They are super lightweight, and have nice stiching around the rubber bottom portion. An all around nice boot, much better than any other snow boot I've had. Size was a perfect fit, just enough room to wear big socks with but not too bulky.
By Walksalot from Ft. Collins, CO on 11/09/2009 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Lightweight, Warm Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This boot is a great idea, and looks nice with a skirt or pants *if* you like the brand name written across the felt cuff. I liked these boots because the green is a great contrast, but I don't like being a walking advertisement.
The boot runs big even with really thick socks and the buckles on the side don't adjust much. The boot is warm but I didn't get to try it in rain or snow so I'm not sure how warm it would be in winter. There's also very little support or cushioning in the footbed, so bring thoroughly cushioned socks or insoles to make this worth walking more than a few blocks.
By Grandma from TX from Texas on 11/09/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Recreational User Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Shoe constructed nicely, but not for narrow feet. No secure tie lock for shoe strings. I needed these for water aerobics, but they didn't work.
Great price on these shoes By Eco tourer from Salem, OR on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Traction, Great Fit, Lightweight Cons: Difficult On and Off Best Uses: Boating, Wading, Walking/Hiking Describe Yourself: Recreational User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for a trip to the Galapagos for hiking over rocks and wet boat landings, and it's an added bonus that these are very lightweight and pack well. I ordered my usual size, and the toe area is extra roomy, so I may have been able to go down a half size, but since I wear these with quick-dry sox, the extra room isn't a problem for me. I especially like the adjustable heel area. With the great price from this seller, all in all, I'm very happy.
Salomon XT Wings for women By Running Hot in AZ from Cave Creek, AZ on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Wide toe box Cons: Laces don't last long, Squeaks Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Fast packing, Ultra trail runs races Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great for everything from running the Grand Canyon to taking the dog for a walk. Wide in the toe box, but fits my heel nicely. Feel solid and protective on my feet without being too heavy. They support my high arches very well. In cold weather the non Gor-Tex version can feel drafty across the toes. The laces have an annoying tendency to fray and break (they do sell easy to do replacement laces).
By casual skiier from heading to the alps on 11/09/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Backcountry, Cross Country, Downhill, Snowboarding/Skiing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Be careful. These really are true to size. I always have to order a size up in pants because typically the hips/thighs are too narrow. So, I'm a 10 and ordered a 12 and they are a bit too big. Especially in the width of the legs BUT they have a nice velcro tab on the waist so I can make them fit and won't have to return them.
By Work at home but out a lot from Berkeley, CA on 11/09/2009 Pros: Durable, Great closure, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Really wish these had fit because they're adorable, have a great snap closure, and are made really well. but they were a full size too short and way too narrow (and not available bigger). would have worn these everywhere. Oh well. Someone small grab these while you can!
The most comfortable shoe ever! By Sally from Salisbury on 11/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Though this shoe runs long and for my size 11M foot, that is nearly impossible, it is still the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on my feet. And I order and return lots of uncomfortable shoes.
By FossilFinder from South Dakota on 11/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I tried a lot of winter boots before I settled on these, but I knew they were the right ones as soon as I put them on! These are very snug to the foot, I ordered a full size up from my usual shoe size so that I could wear thick socks with them. However, that snugness and form-fitting shape keeps my feet even more warm than a normal clunky boot, and gives my feet extra stability. The soles are thick, cushiony, and not very flexible. This feels almost like a snowboard boot, which isn't surprising given that it's Salomon after all. The solid exterior is stylish and easy to clean. Very sporty look! The toe is wide and rounded; I know some people don't for that kind of look but I like it, and it gives extra room in the toe box.
