I suspect the wood was not fully cured when the handle was made and shrank, revealing the rivets. The knive action is smooth and it seems sturdy and sharp. It opens and closes easily.

More knife than corkscrew, this is the perfect tool to keep in my pocket, opens well, and looks classy. I don't know yet how well it will weather the years of abuse I plan on putting it through.

I did have to sharpen them right out of the box, but other than that, they're great. And I really wanted steak knives that didn't have serrations, so these were perfect.
