By CP from Richmond, VA on 11/01/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Easy To Use, Good Weight, Sharp Blade, Versatile Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Campgrounds, Day Trips, River Trips, Road Trips, Survival Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Even though this was made in China (most Spyderco's are made in the US), it's well put together and a solid knife. Very sharp. The action was a little stiff, but after opening and closing 20 or 30 times, it's smoothed out quite nicely. The belt clip is TIGHT. This knife will not slip out of your pants pocket when using the clip.
By deckhand from Bodega Bay, CA on 10/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Easy To Use, Good Weight Best Uses: Campgrounds, Day Trips, River Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Decent knife for the money -- good heft, durable alloy, and tight craftsmanship for an overseas manufacture. The finishing on the blade leaves a bit to be desired, as there is a noticeable foil in the serrations which is difficult to sharpen out.

Very sharp, but bigger than I thought By Jocko - Casual hunter and fisherman from Dallas, TX on 10/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Easy To Use, Good Weight, Sharp Blade Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Campgrounds, River Trips, Road Trips, Survival Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The blade was sharp out of the box. Made in China though, which bothered me. It has stayed sharp, but, after a couple of weeks, one of the points in the serrated edge has bent a litte (this is from cutting a deer bone). However, for a Spyderco at this price, I would definitely purchase this knife again.
By sportsr2 from Maryland on 10/19/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Easy To Use, Sharp Blade, Versatile Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Campgrounds, Day Trips, River Trips, Road Trips, Survival Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Pics do not do justice for this knife. This knife is almost too big to be a pocket knife. The blade is big amd wide and overall the knife is a little heavy. So think about that before purchasing.
The blade is wicked sharp. Whenever I flick it open, the blade snaps lightning quick and loudly ino place. (Will make your friends' eyes widen when you demonstrate.)
You will bleed if you are not careful opening it. And, always close it immediately after use! This knife is not a toy knife...
By MJ from Alameda, CA on 10/16/2009 Pros: Compact, Easy open, Easy To Use, Good Weight Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Extremely lightweight, but less rigid than if it were solid. That's the trade-off. I chose it for it's light weight, ease of open/close, and the unusual design.
By lightning from Kenner, Louisiana on 10/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Good Weight, Sharp Blade, Versatile Best Uses: Day Trips, River Trips, Road Trips, Survival Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been interested in Emerson knives since I first read about them and was amazed and pleased when I finally got one. They are superior to automatic knives which I have plenty of and truly useful.
Nice knife. Big for daily carry By John from St. Louis on 10/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Easy To Use, Sharp Blade Best Uses: Daily Carry, Road Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice knife. Well made in Seki, Japan. The VG 10 steel holds an edge and is easy to sharpen. It is a lot of knife for having a short blade. You can get a lot of leverage on the thick handle and the short blade is really wide. I keep it in my pocket everyday. The only problem I have with it is that it is pretty scary looking with its wide spear point and grooved handle. Ive pulled it out to open boxes in front of people and they looked at me like I pulled out an ax.
By Terry from Harbor Springs, Michigan on 10/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Good Weight, Sharp Blade, Versatile Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Campgrounds, Day Trips, River Trips, Road Trips, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Usual Spyderco quality. Sharp right out of the box. This knife was well designed and fits my hand well. The blade is not very long but, doesn't need to be as, it is so well designed that, it takes advantage of the size it is. It is priced well at this discount and I suspect that it will hold up to years of use.
