Since the spydercard is now discontinued, this is your only chance to get a similar knife while you can. Great for a deep discreet carry in your wallet. Great quality from Byrd as always.
By Rico from Falls Church, VA on 11/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Opens Smoothly, Sharp Blade Cons: Difficult To Close, The lock release is small Best Uses: Camping, Home, Hunting, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a contractor and use the knife at work, home and in the bush. The Byrd comes in real handy at Home Depot and Lowes when I need to cut the straps off lumber, etc. When I'm off the clock the Byrd does a great job slicing up fruit, deer necks, sandwiches and opening my bottled beer.

By survivalist from new mexico on 10/29/2009 Pros: Compact, Sharp Blade Cons: Awkward shape, Difficult closing, Uncomfortable Grip Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: it's hard to find compact and useful in the same package. unfortunately, this isn't it. If you are a collector, it makes an interesting ornamental, but I see little practical use for this blade.
By Snowmakin' Swede from winter park resort, colorado on 10/28/2009 Pros: Compact, Good Weight, Sharp Blade Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i'll never buy this knife again...cuz i already bought it! if i lost this one, i would definitely buy another, especially for a[$]..the only thing is the blade is too sharp (i cut my tongue on it)
Great Little Knife... Bang for the Buck! By Gumby In NC from North Carolina mountains on 10/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Compact, Durable, Sharp Blade, Versatile Cons: Need to LocTite screws Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Day Trips, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The Crow combination blade is my second Byrd knife (the other being a Raven combination). This is made by Spyderco and has much the same quality without the price. I wanted something that was sub-3" blade to carry everyday after falling in love with the Raven, which I've had for 2 years+. I carry these Byrds more than an older Spyderco Delcia I have.
The combo blade is the way to go if want versatility (serated portion for rope/ cord/ webbing). The knife holds a razor sharp edge and wears well. Easy to sharpen. As with ANY knife, keep a thin coat of oil in the blade to further protect the blade from corrosion.
Only negative is: they don't LocTite the Torx screws at the factory. My screws loosened quickly without it. Cheap, easy solution: pickup some LocTite at the local hardware store and apply to screws. If you do that, you'll have a bomb-proof tool for a many years.
