Terrific; more stable than smaller one By DishSoap from Mountain View, CA on 08/26/2008 Pros: Compact, Easy To Clean, Easy to Light, Great temperature control, Lightweight, Powerful, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, High Altitude, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This stove works great. It is more stable than the smaller model that only has three supports. Definitely worth the extra ounce.
By ScoutDad from Yakima, WA on 08/17/2008 Pros: Compact, Fast Start, stable Cons: Inconsistent starting Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Day Trips Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought 3 of these stoves for my son's boy scout troop. The stove is very stable and the flame adjustment is set out away from the flame on top of the fuel canister. An additional benifit of having the stove sit on the gound seperately from the canister is that we were able to set the fuel canister in a small bowl of warm water to boost the performance of a canister in low temperature without upsetting the stove.

Slim desgin, typical elegant Sweedish engineering. The stoves takes propane nothing tricky about the feul.
By Quetico canoer from Onalaska, WI on 08/10/2008 Pros: Easy To Clean, Easy to Light, Powerful, Stable Cons: Poor temperature control Best Uses: Backpacking, Canoe Tripping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used this stove for the first time on a 6 day 4-person canoe trip in the Quetico. I love how durable this stove seems. It lit fairly easily and makes things hot...fast! Simmering is difficult, though. It is loud, but at least I could tell it was working. I like the metal fittings and fuel lines. It is a bit heavier than other stoves, but the fuel flexibility is great. I used white gas with no trouble. Among the concerns I found was that the o-ring on the pump tended to fall off when I took things apart. I had to be careful not to lose it. The diffuser plate would also come loose in the bag, so keep an eye on it. I was using the 1 liter fuel bottle, so the stove would actually run out of gas before the bottle. Use the smaller bottle to get to all the fuel in the bottle.
By Mike from Wisconsin on 08/08/2008 Pros: Compact, Easy to Light, Great temperature control, Powerful, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend This is really well built and puts out quite a bit of BTU action. It heats quickly and evenly. I would agree with one of the earlier comments that there are a few sharp edges, but it's nothing to get too worried about. A lttle sandpaper would do the trick.
It's a winner.
By Ranchrose from Montana on 08/05/2008 Pros: Compact, Easy to Light, Great temperature control, Lightweight, Powerful, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, High Altitude, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Comments: Was concerned about getting fuel for it. Found another brand of fuel tank that worked just fine. Worked very well on it's first time out.

By Big D from Denver, CO on 08/04/2008 Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Powerful, Stable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: nice stove. cranks like a jet engine. I hooked up a gas cartridge to it and it cranked. Was a bit tricky to light at first, but then figured it out. You just have to have it as low as possible, and light it from the top, not the side. Then you can crank it up. I bought this cause it is multifuel and light. I got an MSR fuel bottle, which works fine with this Primus stove (screws on at least and holds pressure. Didn't try with actual fuel.) The seal on the plunger for use with fuel bottle, looked a little beat up already, yet this stove is new. I think it's either too soft of rubber, or it's been sitting around for some time before being sold to me. Looking forward to backpacking with it.
An excellent stove - if all pieces there By Rob from Burlington, VT on 08/03/2008 Pros: Easy To Clean, Easy to Light, Lightweight, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an excellent stove. It heats quickly and cooks well, and the grill is a nice touch. The grill didn't come with a burner grate, though - check your package very carefully before taking the stove on the road! That's the only thing that keeps this from a five-star purchase.
