White Shorts not worth the price By Super Cutie from Arizona on 06/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good muscle compression Cons: Not Enough Padding, Two-panel consturction Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered these in White- only color in my size- I was surprised to find they are only Two-Panel construction; one piece of fabric for the right side of the shorts, another piece for the left side. I'm used to at least four panels in a quality cycling short. (well, if you count that they are double layers I guess that would constitute "4 panels") I did find they offer great coverage -not see through at all- and they are quite compressive to the thigh muscles. Etxe Ondo is written on the back side of the thigh, which makes them look kind of cool. It was the chamois that broke the deal. It's just a basic piece of foam sewn into the shorts.Out of the package the chamois was bunching, on it was no different. And with a four-way seam running right up the middle of the crotch guess where the chamois went too! All that compression was compressing. These shorts could be great, I ordered some Etxe Knickers at the same time and they have a very nice technical chamois, great compression and loads of style- all of which I've come to expect of European cycling clothing. These are really ordinary and way too expensive for what you get. Could be the Black shorts are a whole other animal. I await other reviews for that.
By Oskie & Uciebear's mom from Kentfield, CA on 06/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Best Uses: Bad Weather, Commuting, Mountain Biking, Road Racing Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Exte Ondo jerseys and jackets runs one size small, particularly through the shoulders.
The fabrics are warm, breathable, and fleece lined. The seams are non-existant.
I wear this top for mountain biking or road riding and racing, for both short distances to double centuries.
I still wear Exte Ondo jackets, jerseys, etc., that are years old because they retain their shape, size, color, and performance qualities.
A nice bonus is that the Exte Ondo line is still made in Spain.
I wear this as a jersey, not a jacket.
sharp looking but wrinkles easily By gherb from Alexandria VA on 05/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Cons: Overpriced, Wrinkles easily Best Uses: Casual Wear, Road Racing Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Looks great when hung dry, excellent quality, fits to form well, feels equal to lesser priced jerseys.
What can I say, there is no magic quality to carbon in the fabric. It does nothing special. That having been said, Etxe Ondo is always very good quality and stylish.
If you put it in the dryer it will come out very wrinkled, and the wrinkles stay, like no jersey I have ever owned. If you hang dry it it looks great. It does dry quickly when hung.
There is no reason to pay even half the retail. I don't care what the manufacturing costs are to make a carbon jersey, there is no benefit for the added cost, and the wrinkle problem is a drawback.
Get a non-carbon Exte Ondo jersey and you will be very happy.
By Tri Girl from Hawaii on 03/04/2009 Pros: Breathable, Good fit, Waterproof, Windproof Cons: Runs Small Size up 1X Best Uses: Everyday, Racing, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Chest Size: Feels too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This Jersey Looks better on, than the photo!!!The fabric is outstanding. I love it. Wish I read the reviews, I usualy wear a small, needed to exchange for a Medium. The Medium fit perfect so I recomend 1 size larger
Great jersey and bib combo! By Aut5150 from South Dakota on 12/29/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Design, Washes Well, Well Made Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great set! It does seem to run a little small. 14/16 would fit a 10/12 no problem.
By Chicago biker from Chicago, IL on 12/09/2008 Cons: Not as long in the waist Best Uses: Casual Wear, Commuting Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was hoping this would replace my need for a winter cycling jacket- the zippered pockets were the reason for buying. But, I'm not sure it's going to be warm enough for Chicago winters- nor do I know if it's going to be long enough for real riding. The jacket itself seems like what I would like, but the fit is very small. I'm normally a medium in jackets, so I got the large. I think extra large would have been better. Might be returning this one.
By Joy(euse) from The hot & steamy south on 12/07/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Windproof Best Uses: Windy, Winter and fall riding Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the ultimate vest for fall & winter riding. Like all Etxe Ondo clothing, this runs a full size small, so ignore the sizing chart and order up one size (this is typical of Euro cycling wear). The style & functionality of this vest is outstanding. I highly recommend it if you are looking for an easy-to-wear, windproof vest for fall/winter riding.
Stylish & high performance! By Joy(eyse) from The hot & steamy South on 12/06/2008 Pros: Breathable, Drop dead gorgeous style, Stylish, Warm Cons: Runs small, Very fitted in chest Best Uses: Club riding, Road Racing Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I LOVE Etxe Ondo cycling clothing! There is nothing out on the market that has the same high fashion look & performance. Like all Etxe Ondo clothing I own, this jersey runs at least a full size smaller than American cycling wear (which is typical, by the way, of Euro cycling gear). I am a 10-12 & I always take an XL in Etxe Ondo. This jersey is quite warm & is simply one of the most stunning winter jerseys I've ever seen. I picked up an Etxe Ondo vest from Sierra Trading Post that layers beautifully over this to make a great high-performing winter cycling gear combo. This jersey may seem expensive but it is SO worth every penny--nothing out there in the market comes close!
By John from Northern California on 11/24/2008 Pros: Good fit, Good Pockets and Features Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is well made and is consistent with most EO products. It is form-fitting, feels comfortable, and has sealed zippers. The windstopper material works well even in 45mph+ downhill descents. Thermalite fleece on the interior feels soft. This jacket feels most comfortable in the 20-45F temperature range. Once temps exceed 50F, it quickly becomes too warm to wear. Besides, for temps above 50F, you're better off with a compressible wind vest that you can remove and stow away.
By Casual Cyclist from Central CA on 11/18/2008 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As usual, the Etxe Ondo product is superb! Style, comfortable fit, material all are great! I always order up a size, as all their clothing fit tight.
